Those cabinet is custom made right? How much does it cost you?
*
Both cabinets, before and after, are custom made. Cant remember how much the before version cost as it was done in 95 blush.gif The latest cost around RM4k, with concealed wiring, TV wall mount and LED lights

Is simple and tidy

Indeed. The previous cabinet was bulky and "consumed" part of the living room. With the new layout, it makes the same appear more spacious thumbup.gif

Maybe with more space available, maybe time to upgrade the Yamaha to the current one that can decode DTS-MA or DD-THD. Or maybe go for a full dedicated HT with AV Receiver and actual speakers all around... Just a  whistling.gif  whistling.gif  whistling.gif

Hahaha....poison!!! Yes, the thought did occur to me but alas, the reason why I went with a soundbar is because I wanted to minimise wiring going all over the place. Also, I don't relish the idea of having to hack my living room again to conceal the wiring in support of a full featured system sweat.gif

Maybe you can start with 2.1 that should do very well upgrade from sound bar
*
That was considered too but want to do it, may as well do all the way, 5.1 flex.gif 2.1 vs the soundbar, not much diff wink.gif

sonerin

Very nice setup but isn't the "ambient" lighting a tad on the bright side?

Yes loh. I think is bright. Maybe need to have dimmer

You have LED installed right? LED dimming needs an electronic dimmer, not just any dimmer switch

A friend of mine had wanted to build a basement car-park with an attached den for his bungalow, which sits elevated from the service road. He submitted his building plans to the municipal (shall remain anonymous), which included some minor piling works to ensure no cave-in etc. His application was rejected sad.gif
