Dear Sifus,

I am still new to HT and I am setting up entry level system. I just purchased the following:-

- SKF-330F 2-Way Bass Reflex Front Speakers
- Magnetically shielded SKC-330C 2-Way Bass Reflex Center Speaker
- Magnetically shielded SKM-330S 2-Way Bass Reflex Surround Speakers

Any idea what kind of matching Subwoofer for these units if I were to use non-Onkyo? hmm.gif

How do I know if the AVR supports Active/Passive Subwoofer? rclxub.gif

how do you guys place your AVR in the tv cabinet with tight space? how much gap do you guys give your avr for "breathing"?

but...,, using digital optical input doesnt output Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD MA from the speakers..
*
Meaning, the optical input has to be connected to AVR with HD Audio support....then only can work?

What does it really mean when all these formats are parked under...

Audio Pass-Through: DTS, DTS-HD HR, DTS-HD MA, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD.

?

Does it mean, my player can decode those formats and I just need HTIB to output the HD Audio?

If you want HD audio, you need to get an AVR which support DTS HD Master and Dolby TrueHD decoding

Added on May 13, 2010, 12:56 pm

It means your player cannot decode HD audio internally but could only bitstream it, so still need an AVR which support HD audio via HDMI connection from your player to output the HD audio.

Well, thanks for the info, Daren. Scouting for cheap AVR with HD audio support now... rclxm9.gif

If you really need the rear speaker to be invicible then you need to in wall speaker.  But only if you are willing to hack on the wall for the speaker and wire first  tongue.gif
