May I ask something?
I'm looking at this LG 55" 3DTV but was wondering whether can off the 3D and also disable the 120Hz motion since it looks fake on 24fps movies. Planning to use it on Astro Beyond and maybe 1080p streaming from my laptop via HDMI |

QUOTE(Will.i.am.Smith @ Jun 30 2012, 03:07 PM) Some panel engine suffers from the 24fps processing hence it's best you bring your 24fps materials to the showroom and try it out there. Dim the overhead lighting lowest possible to see the contrast of the unit when processing the 24fps type. Some will have poor contrast while some other will have artificial color reproduction. Try it before you buy because TV is usually a very long lifespan product hence you dont wanna stuck with a bad one for a while Not exactly sure which of my movies are 24fps. Those 1080ps I download are usually 24fps right? *i recall seeing 24fps in the description* |

May I ask whether this speaker system can reconfigure the rear speakers to play as "front" that is stereo 4.1 because I'm not planning to use 5.1 at all, just 2.1
http://www.sony.com.my/product/bdv-e190 Thanks for the help in advance |

Thanks.. One more question is whether it would be better to play movies using my laptop via HDMI or pendrive plugged into the BD player? Which is of better quality....I'm assuming pendrive plugged into the BD player because the BD player decodes the video better than my laptop graphics card?
My HT set is this: http://www.sony.com.my/product/bdv-e490 I heard from the Sony salesperson that via HDMI I can only get 5.1 effect if the video file has either Dolby Digital only. Is this true? This post has been edited by -kytz-: Jul 3 2012, 10:21 AM |

QUOTE(dlyz @ Jul 4 2012, 12:36 PM) if you have a good graphics card, it might not be that bad compared to your player. sometime pc can support more format than the player. that why most ppl build htpc. Yup. There are certain mkv videos my player can't play (some can).yea you need hdmi to connect your laptop to ur player to get the hd sound Problem is that my BD player has only 1 HDMI port. If I were to connect my laptop to BD player via HDMI. Then how to connect BD player to TV? |

QUOTE(tbcheese @ Jul 4 2012, 06:18 PM) The HDMI on your player is HDMI out. Not HDMI in so don't connect it to your PC. What you can do is do connect your PC HDMI out to TV and PC optical audio to the player. Can it work this way? Another forumer in another thread that it cannot work that way I do prefer using the PC to play as I noticed with high def content, I tend to get audio drops once in a while when using USB on player. |

QUOTE(dlyz @ Jul 5 2012, 09:53 AM) Thanks!Btw any idea where can I get this sort of cables with different type of head. One end is digital output (coaxial) to optical? ![]() Added on July 6, 2012, 3:17 am QUOTE(tbcheese @ Jul 5 2012, 07:24 AM) I don't have optical output on my PC so I've never tried it before. But my PC does allow me to select audio out between HDMI and normal 3.5mm jack. So I don't see why optical won't work. And based on the connections you have on your player, that's the only way you're going to get multi channel sound. Sorry. I salah tengok your reply. I thought you mentioned HDTV to player using optical lolDo you have the link to the other thread? This post has been edited by -kytz-: Jul 6 2012, 03:17 AM |
