it's not out yet. i'm waiting for this film too. although the reviews put it at a very high pedestal, i think it's not for most public. it's quite hardcore scifi, along the line of 2001. and if u've actually seen 2001, it's not for the mass public, despite its awesomeness.

I very much doubt it's as alienating as 2001, but this looks very interesting indeed. Plus I like Sam Rockwell.

I really want to watch this film, but I doubt our local cinema distributors will be bringing it in. Not enough explosions. vmad.gif

A movie about Helium 3 extraction from Moon to solve Earth's energy crisis? Interesting.

I knew from my readings that now G8 countries already drawing borders on Moon for Helium 3 mines as I type this response so this movie is not totally implausible.

Some scientist viewed it is as last bastion of civilization hope from end of fossil fuel era.

But, I don't think local cinemas will bother with this film since it did no have commercial value locally.

i saw this film a few days ago. it lived up to my expectations, and even more. if u're a scifi buff, this will satisfy ur thirst for scifi flick this year, especially if u've been complaining about how star trek was too michael bay-ish for ur likings. in fact, it's not unthinkable to put this as one of the scifi classics, up there with 2001 ASO, blade runner, solaris and the rest.

sam rockwell was awesome. he literally portrayed every single human emotion in under 2 hours. if there is one film that could propel an actor to stardom, this one oughta do it. unfortunately it's not widely distributed, the promotion was almost unheard of and most of my friends didnt know about it.

probably the show stealer in this film is GERTY, the colony's artificial intelligence voiced by kevin spacey. as any other AIs, it follows its programming to the letter, even bending the rules so that it could satisfy its programming. u might think that this has been done before, but i'll tell you... not this way it hasnt.

easily 5/5.
