hey,
I'm kinda new here. thx for the support Anyway, my friend told me that we can actually replace our macbook/ macbook pro's superdrive with internal 2.5 SATA HDD Docking. Based on research, The Most Talkabout hardware for that is MCE OptiBay. ![]() But the thing is I dont think there are one in Malaysia, especially lowyat. But if u think I'm wrong, Is there any of that in lowyat, or similar hardware? where and which can I get it and how much is it? I'll be very happy to know it from u guys. thx |

Take a look at this, it's a cheaper alternative to the Optibay
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=680228&page=19 You do realise you will void your machine's warranty if you replace the optical drive. Something you might want to consider... |

Oh anyway, I just heard about the Thinkpad HDD bay from Lenovo, do u think it'll fit inside my mbpro since it has the same size as my internal DVDRW? |

I'm not sure it that will fit since some these adaptors come with additional plastic trims that you will have to get rid off or not it won't fit in the MBP.
Read up on the link I posted earlier. The adaptors on eBay are much cheaper and removing the plastic trim doesn't seem very difficult. |

What RAM you using? Who install the RAM?
So now the Mac doesn't boot or cannot detect all the RAM? |

Try reseat the RAM again. Also try different slot.
What brand and model is that? Cause in the market there're quite some value RAM won't work in Mac. |

Your Mac should read 3GB if the RAM is installed properly and compatible.
What's the point of getting the RAM when it's not in use. |

QUOTE(thepan @ Nov 24 2009, 06:56 AM) Non-unibody is still using IDE/PATA connection. If you keen I have one unit. PM me. Theoretically it works. But performance wise it's a question on what type of RAM you adding. The best thing is to goes identical for less latency and allowing dual/quad channel when possible. |
