Blackcurrants different loh.....

Why wine is made from grapes is that the skin has yeast naturally and the seed has bitter oils which helps with the tannin.... hohoho, currently I'm studying wine. They memang won't eat the skin on the outside, but when they eat the flesh of the grape, they will gnaw on the skin from the inside.... err... dunno that is understandable or not. Like with apples, if we peel off the skin, the calcium is lower than phosphorus, but if we give them with the skin on, apple calcium ratio is 1 to 1 with phosphorus. Same with oranges but orange got double calcium. So they can still get whatever is toxic from the grape skin.

All this is just to stay, be cautious only. We dunno what will happen later. Grapes are believed to cause liver failure in certain animals, and I read in a few forums overseas that many gliders die from liver failure.

Thanks for the clarification Hun. So it that means we can't make wine with blackcurrents? Haha, cause my friend made blackcurrent wine for me.. But it tasted like SUPER SWEET Ribena rclxub.gif . I need to add 1 : 5 water ratio to dilute it.

My gliders will never take any sort of skins even apples. But they are currently on HPW diet, guess that would fix the calcium ratio right?

Can teach me how to make wine? hehe, or sparkling juice... Hehe

@ l3ryan
Agree with kelvin there. Inbred siblings might not have good immune system as well. That goes to other pets as well.

If you feed HPW, it would be better to feed fruits that are higher in calcium as well - such as papaya. Most of them feed papaya in every feeding together with another high fibre fruit.

I posted the nurtritional analysis of HPW in the last version. You can have a look at the ratio. It's not 2:1, so it is advised to feed high calcium fruits.

Go google the word : Inbreeding to read more on its meaning.

Then u will know what to do.

If u accidentally breed this siblings of urs without knowing, then it is forgivable. But now that u knows about it and do nothing, and still wants to continue breeding them, then i really dunno what to say to u.

Well, Neutering the male is a good option here. As females cant be spayed coz of their complex reproductive systems.

Google more ya.

i guess they will adjust the water consuming by themselves..if u feed watery fruits like watermelon, then they drink lesser lo..

but anyway gliders need water everyday also....

if you give alot types of fruits to joeys, they might get diarrhea from the overload. what i mean is those joeys that is weaned and just starts to take adult food than the mum's milk. if your glider is not that stage, i don't think it will cause problem feeding a variety of fruits because in the wild they too eat a variety of fruits and saps. and many ppl here too feeding a few types of fruits to their glider.

btw, giving too much citrus fruits will cause diarrhea.

If im not mistaken its like sandpaper.. it just files the nails.. Not 100% sure coz i dont use it myself. but i think trimming the gliders nails is always the best solution.

Nail-O-Matic is good.. even though i prefer trimming the nails by using nail clipper, N-O-M does work well... just put inside wheel for a night or two then you can get the result.. but make sure u take it out after the nails all trimmed if not it may hurt the gliders palm... i used N-O-M before but stop since trimming the nails using clipper is more exciting.. hehe.. hope im sharing something good here...
