QUOTE(funkychips) Haha this is my ID Casey! If D. adelea still have dew. Don’t worry about it. In my house, I kept it at the lower layer of my CP rack. And it didn’t receive much sunlight. All D. primuliflora melt? It is hard plant. If you still need them, please let me know. QUOTE(bonai) owh god.. i'm poisoned! Im here to split the poison… MISSION DONE!!! BTW, I had promise to whom for FOC plant? Im not really re-call it. Sorry for that… Need to trace back my PM, email… QUOTE(horndevil) Casey bro, Lu punya racun manyak kuat oh! Never knew there were so many varieties of CPs available for sale in Malaysia! Will be at Cameron Highlands on June 7. Could you direct me to the YG park mentioned. From Gogle search, understand it is 8-9km from Equatorial Hotel opposite a tea shop. Is it towards Brinchang or the other direction. Have a few VFTs and Pitcher plants but they are nothing compared to those in your collection especially the red VFT! Im not really sure as well. I didn’t went there… Im asking the 2 friend that went there. Will update here. Most of CP is starting available in Malaysia. QUOTE( konbawa) can anyone introduce a plant that eat up all the mosquito in my room. can pm me about it tyvm QUOTE(HyourinMaru) I nid a plant that can "wipe out" all the mosquitoes and scuttle flies in my house.Any idea which plant ideal for it? There is no CP that will eat up all mosquito. There is CP competition in Penang from Next week onward for 1 week at Botanical Garden. For those interested, please go there and have a look. And there is CP for sale and show as well!!!! Added on May 29, 2009, 6:41 pmLast time, I had promise to give plant to who ar? Please PM me again!!!! Thanx... Added on May 31, 2009, 7:25 amHorndevil, Reply from my friend: What he said is correct.....it is about 8-9km from Equatorial hotel if he’s coming from Tapah entrance. Just look out for the Tea Shop on the left, road to YG Park is on the right. Turn right, follow the dirt road for about 100m...YG Park is on your right. But YG isn’t really open to public. He can say he is from CP Forum lah & try. They have lots of neps.....sarra about 4-5 types, sundews & VFT & pings depend on stock. But, usually they got. QUOTE(leetplayer @ Apr 16 2009, 12:42 PM) I mean, I use sphagnum moss as substrate. It does produce pitchers.. but they will dry up and die in matter of days! I din't fertilize them and I hang it just outside my house. Bro, I am no expert in pitcher plants but a real newbie. However, I noticed that my plants are growing well in "burnt" clay soil that they sell in the nurseries. Just have to keep it moist. As to the pitchers drying up, I normally pour some water into the pitchers. This keeps the pitchers nice and round and hydrated. I do fertilise the plants with "osmocoat"; some sort of fertiliser sold at the nurseries for indoor plants. Just keep them at the fringes of the pot and not anywhere near the plant. The occasional ant or winged termite in the pitchers does wonders to its well being. Would think not to use insects like flies or cockroaches though! Here's my pitcher plants pics: ![]() Think this is Rafflesiana ![]() This I am not sure of the species. ![]() My weak Venus Fly trap that I think is Shark Teeth. Hope to learn more on the TLC of the Venus Fly Traps and Sundews that I hope to acquire! This post has been edited by horndevil: Jun 3 2009, 01:58 PM |

heh, i thought you're interested in mosquito control.
U. aurea literally traps mosquito larvae. Some keepers living in the northern hemisphere reported that they are not really effective, but there was a research in India that more or less described aquatic Utricularias as biological control agent. you judge |

If you still need them, please let me know. Thanks Casey!! Here they are: Lumped everything into the 1 ft x 1ft terrarium. ![]() The sundews from you. The D paradoxa is doing ok now. It's such a healthy plant! Thanks! ![]() Twin Cephs. ![]() The intermedia Cuba, now dewing heavily. ![]() The adelae. It looks a bit strange, like the leaves are drooping and heavy. Is this normal? ![]() Aliciae, a mound of dewy leaves. Well, not so dewy lately. But the leaves close on stuck prey. |

As my adelae it keep growing out new plant from within the substrate, but when i dig out one of it & re-plant it on another pot, it didn't survive You can propagate D. adelae by using leaf cutting. Cut the leaf, laying it flat on top of sphagnum moss, make sure the sphagnum moss is wet. Cover the pot to raise humidity. You can soap adelae leaf in fresh water as well. Beside that, read in somewhere in internet said that, D. adelae can propagate using root cutting as well. Means, cut off mother plant root and plant it. Then, plantlet will grow from root. I never try it yet Im not sure what causing the plantlet die. I only will replant those plantlet when their size reach 1.5inch +. Most of time, I just left it be and didn’t replant it. |
