guys, i got one question

i recently bought a blu-ray disc to watch (1st time) and the audio quality is so soft. Well, at least when i switch the volume on maximum its still not as loud as i hope it will be.

I'm using ps3 and a sharp lcd tv to watch. Do i need an external speakers for the sound to be loud?

i tried everything including putting the maximum volume on the ps3 setting but it doesnt make much of a difference. Does some title has lower sound? i watch the dark knight.

any idea when Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen [Blu-ray] come out????

best to watch bluray with decent HD home-theater setup which includes a good sub-woofer

or else, waste nia...

can i find one with budget lesser than 1500? or just around 1000?

I suggest you ask in Home Entertainment forum.
But I think RM1,500 can just get a HDMI receiver alone.
Maybe can try those HiTB with HDMI input.

<RM1.5k budget ah?? err.... can only get those HTIB (home theater in box).... but dunno if they're capable of lossless HD audio la.

IIANM, Sony HTiB has one with BD player and HD audio decoding capabilities. I thought I saw it at Sony Centre in KLCC last week. Not sure how much it costs.

Worth checking out if you want an entry level HT system and if you are not particular about the qualty of the sound. My recommendation is that you invest in one which decodes D sound like DTS HD Master and Dolby True HD. It may cost more but has a much longer life. If you invest in once which only decode DD and DTS, pretty soon you will realise that you should have invested in the better one, albeit higher price. Else, just stick to DVD which gives you the same level of entertainment (with upscaling to 1080P) and save the money for a better system later.

Just my 2 sen advice.

Guys just a quick question...

I recently got the Transformers 2-disc set off Amazon and then had a look at the one my friend has which was bought in Malaysia. Why is my box light blue, while his is dark blue? Is there a difference to this?

I also went on Play-Asia to have a look at their BDs and I noticed many movies have a few 'versions'...US, Japan, Hong Kong etc. I noticed pictures of the HK versions usually have a dark blue case while pictures of US versions sometimes have the light blue one...also, US ones are stated as released by Warner Bros. or whatever, but HK ones are DELTAMAC.

Just wondering if there is any advantage to say getting a 'US version' as opposed to 'Asia versions' like maybe more extras or something? Coz I'm just paranoid due to R3 PS3 games giving me mandarin manuals =.=
