My sentiments exactly.

I am going to buy this either way because I already bought the Elderscroll pack previously when they were offering 20% discount.

Fortunately, I can use the mods for Oblivion in Steam so I am not too worried about that.

most of the time thirdparty games sold on steam use ncf files and the common folder, so addons and such should work without any problems. that would be my guess, since most of the games installed as such can run without steam running.

I have just bought Fallout 3 from steam last night. It's just too tempting at the price.

Can we have a thread where tells whichever games people have in Steam? For the purpose of exchanging backups (since downloading the entire game in Malaysia takes forever).

Thanks.

After thinking a lot, I think I will personally wait before buying it.
I think they will release a "full" version of the game with all the DLC when they are done with them (I think there are 5 planned no?) and the price will most probably be the same at that time.

Was damn tempting though, I do hope Steam brings all the DLC.

Plus, seems quite a few people are having issues with Vista 64 bits with Steam version so I prefer wait.

i think i will wait for boxed copy.

when all official DLCs have been released and they do not intend to release any more DLCs.

Yar, I know, but I very much doubt Steam is not going to release the full version once it's complete and once microsoft milked the cow with the individual DLC.
I will see once this full package is released whether Steam is going to sell it or not. Right now buying the game without the DLC (like without the maximum level increase) would kinda sucks imo and there is no way I am gonna buy each DLC individually

I will be patient on this one (and my wallet is kinda empty atm tongue.gif )

I have been buying Steam games almost every weekend.

Unfortunately, if were not for our crappy internet and weak currency, I would have bought more.

@Mudmaniac

Cool I will go home and change it later.

Thanks for that.

I still got a few games that I have yet to download. I'll let it run throughout the night for the next few days.

As far as i know usually we get our data from Singapore, unless we are unlucky and it pipes from Washington or something.
After they allowed region selection, I chose Singapore. Then recently Malaysia popped up on the list. A friend of mine traced the packets to inside the country.

@kianweic Good luck with that. Sometimes streamyx can get bad enough that even inside country traffic sucks. near 10pm last night it slowed to 60kb/s

Found a screenshot of the setting window.

This is totally a guess, but when the GOTY or Gold edition comes out, it should include all the DLC. Currently buying seperately, it's 800MS points for the DLC and with 5 add ons (?) planned, to buy them seperately will cost about RM200. Maybe there might be an option to gift the FO3 from the gold edition. Who knows - this is just a guess.

Yap, totally agree I am just guessing (and hoping tongue.gif ) that they will release something like a "full package" or something. I will wait, if they don't I am pretty sure they will do another round of Fallout 3 weekend offer sometime else in the future (or the price will just drop when the game gets older)

Yeah just like Oblivion and Morrowind in Steam.

Got'em both as a package when they were having the 20% discount.

Steam is addictive like retail therapy.

I feel it's slower using Mudmaniac's setting. I used 2Mb/s and Singapore, it could get 100kb/s, for me la. Now I only getting 50kb/s+ using Mudmaniac's setting, sad.gif

Mine is slower from both Singapore and Malaysia. Previously was set at South Korea.

Any remedies available?

*No more issues with steam now downloading at full speed after restarting the modem.

It's back to really slow again.

Set to Malaysia and yet so slow, download around 3-5kb, seems like back to the old dial-up days.
