The p2p server rate is 1/1/1 whereas the f2p is 0.5/0.5/0.5 i think. So yea, to answer your question.....the rates are different.

I get better gameplay quality from private servers rather than the officials. That's why I'm playing private servers.

RO April Fool’s Event

April Fool’s Day is just around the corner! As the townsfolk of Rune Midgard were recovering from the impact MOROCC left, a few demons decided on playing pranks all over every town.

The Dark lord decides to appear in the middle of the town of Prontera. He has a ritual every hour, which summons a fake Dark lord and a fake Baphomet into each town of Rune-Midgard. What are fakes? Dear players please wait for the event to find out.

Whatever it is, we promise you all will have a great laugh and get really, really confused.

Event Period: 1 st of April 12:00pm after Maintenance – 8 th of April 9:00am
Event Location: All major cities

This is an event purely to let players have fun and enjoy themselves. Be cautious however that sometimes pranks may get UGLY. See you all there; and last one there is a Fool!

The beauty part of RO is the leveling together with your party...but thanks to the bot, one of the main point of RO gone.

There is nothing much you can do with RO once you reached the max level especially you dont put enough heart or effort for your max level character...Everything come so easily and since it come so easily, players can leave this game and character easily as well.

If I want to come back to Ro, I think I rather go to player iRO..since the cost is pretty much same and it have better gaming experience...Sure, iRO might have bot problem but the human players were there as well. So it kinda balance out.

Playing at the server that have 70% bot, 30% human still better than playing at the server that have 95% bot, 5 % human.

How often can one find Malaysian players in iRO? iRO gives me the impression that most players there are Americans.

When I reached max level, I usually just sit & talk in towns. Sometimes I join parties for the sake of helping people to complete the party. 95% bot is no difference from playing an offline game, I don't even know why would one pay for that. There are many things we can't do without a party.

My sentiments exactly. I'm currently playing an international server, getting to meet people from all around the world is kinda fun. Though they may speak in a different language, but quite a number speak English as well. The gaming experience is wayyyy better.

Man, to be honest. The good times all gone already. Back then in open beta ep.1 do any of you honestly remember how Prontera was like? People left right and centre, chatting talking and helping around. sleep.gif

Now RO's pretty much dead, unless you count P.Servers which pretty much keep the game alive. I miss RO, and I don't deny that I botted simply because the grinding got too tedious, but in PvP, all that mattered was your brains and how you handled your character (with no lag biggrin.gif).

Still the typical Malaysian flame war attitude pissed me off and that's half of why I left RO for good. Daily embroilment in the drama of guild vs guild rivalry. If anyone remembers Guardians from Thor. smile.gif

Also, the quality of the gamers appearing now has occured to me as somewhat dropped. Back then if we didn't know we'd research eh? Now they're getting kinda..err..*scratches head* and RO doesn't have too much a steep learning curve, unless you count all the card output formulas.

Right now, the only thing I'm doing is making source mod's for RO =P anyone interested? (i hope this doesn't break the thread rules?)

I had a few years break between the open beta & the current version. But right now as I'm playing, Pront is still kinda lively. I usually sit there to talk.

Everywhere, as long as it's competitive play, flame war & dramas will occur. It's just that, when it comes to Malaysian, I generally can't understand what they're talking.

I consider myself as a casual type, not the serious type that understands all the RO mechanics. So I tend to hang with people like myself. However, I've met with veterans that knows how to read & understand eA codings or are eA developers themselves.

Heh, I really miss the community back then. I myself work using eA, having long given up on the competetive scene. The only thing I dislike about mRO is pretty much the lack of content (or relatively slow content update) and the fact that the staff members do not interact much. I feel as a GM, one should reach out to the players (having been GM on p.servers myself) and get to know them better. Plus the ability to customize on Pservers make the experience all the more attracting hence why players tend to move there.

The only downside is the typical mentality that they must be spoonfed everything from drop locations right down to the cards needed on equips, there's no diversity anymore nor do people experiment with interesting builds as was back then.

Like I was saying, I'm trying to revamp RO into something worth playing again. It gets pretty much mundane once you have memorized the entire item_db and mob_db knowing exactly what to expect. Anyone up for the challenge? biggrin.gif

Not iRO, not too fond of official servers. But I am currently in an American server, yes. Lag wise, it appears to me that its based on YOUR location. Because as you may be well aware, different area have different quality of internet service. Hence locations with poor internet connection would have bad lags, no doubt.

Yea, the BALANCED customizations in private servers along with active GMs are attractive indeed. But that kinda server are somewhat rare I believe?

I wouldn't really call it spoonfed, it depends on the player & circumstances actually. But people do need a guide for general references to have a slight idea how to get things done correctly. So build & gameplay diversity depends on the circumstances too. For instance if you're playing in a server with 95% bots, I'd say it's kinda impossible to do somethings like making a FS prof with only 1 int, a WoE HP with only 1 int or generally any builds that require parties to achieve. There are even dungeons that you can't go without a party e.g. thanatos, abbey 03, thor etc.

No private server discussion please.
If you guys love private server, go out there make private server thread.

Discuss Malaysia Ragnarok Online 12.1 stuff only for example new feature, new cards, running events, etc..and no private server.
