not really.
for example, my eset license just expired week ago, now i (was) using NIS2010.
what can i conclude is NIS2010 is epic fail.logging in from password screen takes extra around 30 seconds compared to nod. still not mention the loading of startup items and so blabla..delay on changing directory..slow scan..missed virus...blabla..thats it, slow as hell.

haih..rugi seh...yesterday i buying avira premium(hoping the performance is decent as the free version), buang je NIS.

I think its you who phailed on optimizing your computer and blamming NIS for that.

Whatever your saying "loading of startup items and so blabla..delay on changing directory..slow scan..missed virus...blabla..thats it, slow as hell."

I dont experience that

Im using NIS2010 and so far i've found it to be abit faster then NIS2009. Havent tested it on viruses, but since im not getting any todate, that has to mean its working.

plus i practice safe computing like not going to china or russian websites which are full of viruses and trojans.

Well i can say NIS2010 is good. High detection rate. Low false positive.

Why?

Cause everyday i surf to warez sites, download stuff to test and so on.

noticed that there's a few things that everyone (almost) concern are:-

1) Free or Paid
2) Detection rate, speed of scanning and accuracy
3) Resource hungry or not
4) Frequency of virus signature updates
5) Nice interface?

i think the votes should be separated to:-

Free AV or Paid AV and the reason you chose them. (#2, #3, #4, #5)

just my thought on this since there are people who doesn't have the money to pay (mainly students) for a paid/premium/gold version of AV but needs some kind of protection and doesn't want to use the *priaak!* version.
