As you all know, 'data entry' job offer nowadays are too good to be true, mostly are scams. So I need some advice from you guys.
Ok this is the story.

Last december I came across this data entry job in Jobstrxxt from a company 'Chip Hup Holdings'. I then apply for the job and was later called up for an interview.

I was a little startled arriving at the company coz it's like a new office environment with only a receptionist desk and some rooms with empty desks, hardly look like an established company, nevermind that since it might be a new company. So i proceeded to attend the interview, and the interviewer is a Malay guy who doesn't look very professional (we only spend less than 5 minutes and the way he conduct the interview is not like my previous job). Then I was told to wait for reply. Ok end of part 1.

One month later (last week) someone from the company called me up for training (I was quite suprised coz I've already forgotten about the job since it's already 1 month passed. Usually it wouldn't take so long right?) so I feel some fishy stuff going on. I'm still doubting is there any sort of trick this company is playing.

Fellow LYN-ers pls advice. Any of you came across this company before or similar kinda scenario happened to you.

Yeah 1-2 months are not weird i also got such calls b4 from more famous companies..

Anyway, just 5 minutes googling tells me this company is just newly established for telesales or sort of things..
They sure need some data entry clerk for updating their database alright.

Update
Went to the so call 'training' today, which is supposed to be a 3 day training starting from today. To my suprise there's quite a lot of other candidates there.

We are divided into groups for the 'training' session, and today for the whole 6 hours we are taught about Forex (the company deals with Forex), instead of receiving training about the respective job.

I endured through the day, and came home browse for this company 'Olympic Internation Limited' based in New Zealand that this company CH is dealing with (as claimed by the ppl there).

What I found :

If they are the same company, Calgary is in Canada not New Zealand, and someone claimed the company's webpage is based in Hong Kong.

The senior mentioned in that forum which brags about her money earned through Forex is also present today, coz the PIC today keep telling us how much she gained from Forex and how many cars and properties she own so I think they're the same person.

So to people who are also involved in this job/company, please be careful JIC.
For myself, I won't be attending the training anymore, this company is definitely suspicious.

Are you serious??
Just now I just called the company for job application.
An indian woman with hard to understand english =.=''' tell me to go interview tomolo.
I just got the company name so I search through the web and found this forum.

Is it really a scam?
If it is then I won't go for interview tomolo anymore.

According to what I found on the forum and my personal judgement, it's not worth attending the interview.

Unless you want to learn some basic knowledge about Forex, it's a waste of time. The applicants that went through the interview with me all applied for data entry but ended up we were taught how to play Forex.

You can try but don't put so much hope on getting a job.
That's my advice.

Same thing happen to my younger brother. Last few days, he applied for a HR position & he told me that he already got a job as admin in Chip Hup Holding Sdn Bhd. And in 3 days, he had a training which is about Forex. From the beginning, the interviewer said that the company are based in Auckland and what i've found was kind of suspicious.

"Company ni merupakan FOREX BROKER di New Zealand. Company ni melantik ada 1 sykt A kat KL ni sbg introducer. sambil tu cam jd consultant utk client kat m'sia ni utk invest la. Tp sykt A ni tak amik duit client. client yg nak invest kena wat sendiri @ minta sykt A tlg wat kan tp duit tu akn di transfer ke money changer yg dah wat agreement dgn olympic ni. Pastu baru money changer ni tranfer duit tu ke olympic. baru la olympic proses permohonan akaun tu."

So, be careful guys.

Don't waste time for whatever interview:
Here are my findings: I went there to check the place out once and for all.

1. Office area is like ghost-town. Megan Avenue has less people than the National Museum on a working Monday
2. Carpark is RM3.00 first hour (Rm2.00 subsequent hour) - Carpark is probably haunted - go park there and you'll see why I said so. 3000 car park bays with less than 100 cars (on Saturday)
3. BLOCK E - LEVEL 3A - CHIP HUP Holdings ... the logo on the door is a sticker with quality worse than those of PASAR MALAM.
4. Receptionist desk is like parking ticket payment counter (low cost material and it's small)
5. Nobody works there ... the whole building consist of Interview Rooms smaller than my Hamster's Toilet.
6. The interviewer - dresscode like a bad ass mofo. He only said Good Morning in English and the rest is Bahasa Melayu.
7. WHAT SORT OF NEW ZEALAND company SPEAKS BAHASA MELAYU DURING OFFICIAL INTERVIEWS? doh.gif
8. A 3 days training is required to TEST your performance for a "PART TIME DATA ENTRY" job. WTF? I am a freaking EXCUTIVE as it is now. I don't NEED TRAINING for a PART TIME DATA ENTRY job. vmad.gif
9. I asked what the training was about - he say they will teach you how to do the job properly. WTF again. Excel Word PowerPoint. Go figure!!!
10. This company is a big time scammer who probably will ask money from you sooner or later in the process ... it's just a matter of time.

FINAL VERDICT:

BOYCOTT ALL INTERVIEWS OR TRAINING SESSIONS NOW. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. A BEGGAR AT PETALING STREET (CheeCheongGai) probably earns more than you for the time you waste there.

It looks like a scam that happened somewhere else before. Here's an excerpt from a foreign newspaper:

" .........A recent case under investigation involved a criminal creating a similar site to the foreign exchange market, which is where currency trading takes place. The procedure involved creating an account for the victim and asking them to deposit money for investment.

"The website looks authentic as it includes charts, ratings, and how much the victim is gaining from the stocks.

"The criminal waits for the victims to continuously deposit huge sums of money before closing down the website," he said .... "

I called up this Chit Hup company and tried to arrange for an interview. I got it but when I asked for the name of the person I spoke to, it was so secretive. He refused to give it to me. He asked me to bring my pic and also a photocopy of my ic. I asked him why I must give a copy of my ic and he said company policy. He thinks I am a greenhorn. I smelt a rat and therefore I google this company and found this website. I am definitely not going to for the interview.
