Job Title: Creative Designer
Skills: Software - PS / AI / Flash / Actionscript Knowledge - Identity & Branding design, Printing, Interactive and layout design.
Certificate: Degree in Multimedia & Advertising Design
Salary: Rm 3k - Company ... 1k - 5k - Freelance
Exp : This December.. been working for 1 year already.

Opinion for my job : My passion and skills are in identity and branding design.. so I manage the branding and the company's corporate identity. But my actual job description involve developing E-learning modules and this is where i use my Flash skills. So far, i love my job. Benefits are superb with year-end bonus / full medical coverage / 21 days annual leave / EPF coverage and so on... They would give me soo much exposure to develop my design skills by sending me to design workshops /conference and such. The equipments and hardwares are also up to date coz the company would fulfill all my request. Right now am using the latest Adobe CS4 Design suite. My studio office have a mac for design stuff, a window pc for admin work and presentation and I was given a macbook pro so I can work mobile in case I need to meet clients/ vendor outside office.

The only downside is : having to wear formal wear to the office and sometimes have to do admin coporate-ish stuff.

I work in a GLC company working under their design department. They just started an in-house design dept last year to save cost from outsourcing during this recession. Hell.. im the only designer here so im kinda the head. I consider myself super lucky (im grateful to god) to land a job like this, coz most of my friends are underpaid and in a stressful job. What I learn right after I graduated, to work in a small design house is not worth it with becoz of being underpaid and the stressful workload. I choose to work with a corporate company because of the work ethic ,the salary and the satisfaction of putting effort that i put on a project being appreciated.

Because I return from office at 5pm most of the day, I have more time to kill so I will do freelance work part-time.

QUOTE(dazzywazzy @ Jul 22 2009, 05:31 PM)
many times i get jobs at 5pm.. and i have to OT till late night. with no $.. and many times i'd just wanna leave and ignore it.. but cant. cuz its a rush job. the jobs pays the company, the company pays me.. if dont do.. company dun get paid, and i dont get paid.. all and all its how the boss manage his company and his staff..

i think next time i go job interview.i'm gonna ask with there is OT pay.. if no OTpay i wont accept the offer.. unless my basic is very high..

now basic like crap.. OT pay pun tarak. nais
*

sorry to interrupt you he..

take dis discussion to more seious level, the company actually deserve the right to not to pay OT for those who been paid for more than RM1500. dat's the law..

I've been to the labor office and nothing they can do with it. for those who been paid RM1500 and above, they are tied with company handbook/letter offer. if your letter offer stated that no OT will be given for those whose salary above RM1500, then there's nothing u can do about it..

nowadays, maybe there's a lot of companies who didn't apply this rule but there's some that really stick tight to this F**king rule..very shame.

Mine, just quit for my job and now is looking for a new one. Previously, I've been paid RM2400 with job tasks is designing web application system for the company.also do hardware/technical support because there's only 2 of us for the whole company.

I decided to quit even though my current situation is not allowed me to (my wife is going to give a birth next month)..very risky!

Quit stressed right now, hopefully everything will go right. Running my own company called Ilham IT Solutions (IITS) and still trying to get a new job for the company ASAP!

title : Internship (graphic designer)
salary : 600 during intern 1k after
exp: Diploma in IT
opinion: despite being an intern, i find the salary had is more than enough for me. The work load is not that bad, not to mention i am still learning on those softwares which i did not learn much during my diplomas. Everyones cool there, quite relaxing atmosphere and my job is only like, designing sites (not programming it) and maintaining and updating existing website.
