9.1.1.1014 appears to be identical to v9.1.1.1011 for x58, only added windows 7 RC compatibility.

no way to know. this software is a collection of device drivers.

intel doesn't document very well on each of them.

here are the release notes and readme from Intel's website:

http://downloadmirror.intel.com/16026/ENG/readme.txt
http://downloadmirror.intel.com/16026/ENG/relnotes.htm

Note: 9.0.0.1008 is the official, published release.

thanks buddy, but that release note and read me was like n years ago inf release. so i am not sure if i should continue reading that.

anyway, should we install the utility anytime when a new release from intel come out?
from time to time we upgrade our hardware or OS (GPU, Windows 7).
so do you think update the latest utility version is always the correct move?

for me, no harm biggrin.gif

you'll notice the isntallation will be very fast, when it's not required. If required, Windows will prompt you with lots of messages.

install this when u do a fresh install of your OS.

it's a one-time deal anyway. Unless u have a very very new mobo with the latest chipsets, try update with the new versions.

I try it in a fresh install (after format), means I'm not using the chipset come with the recommended driver from Gigabyte, and one of the component were not installed ... Intel SM BUS something like that .. sad.gif
