I'm still thinking of a bass to buy ... Perhaps a Fender Jazz Bass or Vintage ....

About the video ... They uses Adobe Premier to link all the videos together ... We gotta record our self for sure ... And we gotta send to the one with the best Adobe Premier skill to make it happen . Its pretty simple like drag and drop and resize .

Kusaka ... Mind telling me what do you use to record your playing ? The sound and the video quality is smooth ... If everyone records like you ... Sure can make it an online band =P

I'm thinking about this bass .

Online Band

Song that I'm currently playing ...

Playing with Saxophone as the vocal !

P/S : The one in the video=Not me

Just so you know, female bassist... are HOT.

I don't dare update the first thread with names because I'm not sure if people actually want to participate. Give me a 'put my name down' and I'll do it.

Still bummer on the drummer. Drum machine?

The youtube thing is way cool. Still, if most of us are centered around KL, might as well meet up right? If the female bassist wants to show up wearing a Yuki cosplay, I strongly insist that we meet up. Yes, yes we must.

In the mean time, what song do you guys want to try? My suggestions are Karma and Ash Like Snow, start slow like whathisname said, but I'm open to suggestions! That Joint video made me learn the song in an hour or two, thats how cool it was!

If you are doing the video thing ... I will surely join ... Add me up in the list ... I'm a bassist by the way . Getting my bass soon ... Now still training on my friend's bass . I can play AshLikeSnow ... But is anyone willing to do the VIDEO combining and editting ? I never practice on Joint ... So what do you think ? I can't meet up because I'm going oversea soon ... The most I can do is record and then send to you guys then you guys mix it up just like the Joint video !

I seriously wanna do this =)

P/S = I can see the international coding tabs only ... And if we play as band ... I will need you guys to give me the song so that I can figure out the keys myself . Tabs - I'm referring to www.911tabs.com

Here are some songs that we can play too ! ( Mostly Guitar )

I think I can dedicate some time if the practise session is on the weekend coz I am working dayjob
so please put my name there
Can you also share Ash Like Snow guitar tabs?
I also like the song very much but not talented enough to copy chords by listening.

1. PROGRESS 1: Drum beat template completed using Hydrogen (Freeware Drum Beat Software). Guys, PM me your email address so that I can send
a) the mp3 export of the Hydrogen software
b) the Hydrogen file itself

The drum beat is not perfect, but should give us a good reference when practicing. The beat is about 160 beats per second.

2. I've managed to convince my ex-drummer (his name is Stone) to play with us - lives in south Cheras area. I'm from Kajang, close to Bangi.

3. I'm willing to forgo my bass playing status if there's someone better (I'd prefer playing though) - which leaves me with 1 position - the singer!

And if you guys are planning to make an online band or something, count me in!

Hmm, sorry for the lack of replies. Between work, building a VF-25f, playing a visual novel and just plain being sick, I've been neglecting this thread.

ok. First things first. A drummer! That's really good news. Now we can really get things moving. Now lets talk about what we want to play. I think Ash Like Snow is a given. Do we want another song as well? Also, location and time? Where would we go and when would we go? I'm pretty sure weekends are the best, tho I can make some weeknights. I myself am from Kelana Jaya, but I can generally travel if needed.

The other thing is, who else is participating? We'll really need to set a list of participants at this stage, so do reply to this thread or PM me okies? I'm not sure if we can fit everyone in, hmm, how bout taking turns playing the songs and hanging out and talking shop (read: gears and technique)?

Anyway I'll try to keep track of this thread as much as possible. Lets get the show on the road.

P.S. I still need to edit the Ash Like Snow tabs I found on ultimate guitar. The one found there isn't very good (I think lar) so when I'm done with it I'll upload it somewhere.

I don't think Stone and I are ready yet for a session. I myself have only completed the drum beat and not tabbed out the bass yet (yeah slowpoke here). I'd say give it a week or two from now.

Nevertheless, this should not prevent us from planning the place to play. Both of us are familiar with many studios in Bangi and Akarkarya at SS21, Damansara. If we want to choose a mid point, then I'd recommend finding a jam studio somewhere in USJ . Personally, I wouldn't want to play at Akarkarya (even though the place is high tech, the studio is small and acoustics is not even close to the ones in Bangi, and it's more expensive). Just that at least for the 1st go, it's probably a place that is easily accessible by all members.

BTW, anyone interested in getting a copy of the drum beat? PM me yer email.

That brings us right up to CNY. I think its better to do this after the break, as some (myself) may be travelling back to their hometowns etc. That gives us more time to get ready. I've not been to that many studios, just those around PJ, so I'm not knowledgeable at all when it comes to studios. I'll pass on deciding where, as long as its not out of the way for me its fine.

I also really need to get working on my version of the guitar tabs. Not slowpoke, more like saddled with other things to do.

I'd likely post a youtube of me playing bass on top of the drum beat (no web cam though, just static pic smile.gif ). By all means, post some produce if you have them...

Anyway, I'm kinda blank on proposing any other songs that we might wanna play. Truthfully, most anime theme songs are DIFFICULT, especially for the singer.

Can I has the /as peeps to propose some songs? Would like to target about 5 total.
