There is an big art supply at Mid Valley "the garden" side, they have all kinds of materials and accessories. the last time I use super Sculpey was 7 years ago and had to say they are too expensive for locals to pick up the hobby.

If you want to create rubber model like imported toys, you can mix plaster of paris with acrylic and will not break even if you drop or throw it against the wall.

You can buy high quality white acrylic from hardware shop: Flexiseal, mix directly with plaster of paris with a tough brush and apply the mixture to your wire structure, cure in about 10 minutes and dries in a day or so depending on the thickness.

Once you applied to the wire structure, you can shape and smooth with acrylic diluted with water. You can carve within 10 minutes and cut or sand after that. You can also paint the model nail scratch resistant by mixing PVC glue with acrylic colours diluted with either acetone or thinner.

I don't use pour cast silicon or resin, instead I use normal silicon sealant as mold and cultured mixture that can apply with a brush at small volume. I have done my research 10 years ago and if you want to go pro, it has to be Japan for this kind of figurine unless you can do other things not just manga toy.

3dassets ok just want to ask why it have to be japan if i am going to go pro ???? becos that figure is for the usa and europ market. it for the miniatures market (it a 200+ years market that start with little tin mans ) not the japanese Garage Kits market any way ..

and all the pepole that are intersted on buying my sculpt are in to miniatures and are form the western market ..

now back to more technicle stuff isn't silicon sealant abit too tick ?? i have not try it for mold just sealing stuff..

ok about the result of the mold emm i fail to cast my model and as i don't have a vaccum chamber, and my resin stop half way...

Added on July 27, 2009, 4:02 pmoh and my assassian sculpt have been ship to usa for production biggrin.gif poseble metal kit

Sorry, I made speculation based on your poor English and thought maybe you speak Japanese tongue.gif

I was thinking about professional miniature sculpture too 12 years ago but since I cannot buy large scale material or from expensive source, I have to improvise with ordinary hardware material, I can make cement as thin as a 2mm and won't break easily with PVA glue.

Silicon has its advantage that can withstand 500 degrees but not as thick as your type of mold, also I can apply any mixture with a brush instead of pour casting and no need to use vacuum chamber. I was well prepared back then but retracted to computer graphics because it has wider scope, I am willing to transfer my knowledge to anyone.

My method is meant for small scale production rather than selling the master piece, meaning I only sell duplicates even if one order from decorative flower pot to highly detailed miniature at industrial grade.

I have been to Multifila supplier last time, I think if you ask the boss about the fella who sold him the dinosaur 3d CD cover, he'll remember me.

I don't think I'll be going back to physical modeling, CG is where I can build a career, even if I want, it will be souvenir gift items.
