Second hand? Why do you want to get a second hand when you can get a Sony a200 at that price?

You just need to top up RM100 and walla, there you go.

Anyway, if you do have a RM2k budget, you will have more choices, like the 1000D or the D60/D80...

Canon 50D, 40D, Nikon D90, or maybe a D300 whistling.gif

You should test the D90 + 50D out, both are equally good, so it's all up to your personal decisions. Have a look at their official site and specifications if you still can't make a decision.

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos50d/

Have a look at the comparison chart.

Good luck finding your camera. =)

Prosumer? If you ask me, I'd recommend you to increase your budget and get an LX3.

Anyway, there's the Powershot G10, or the Olympus SP565UZ.

http://www.olympusimage.com.my/products/co...series/sp565uz/

There's no link for the Canon one so you have to go to the site.

I think you can get 400D for around that price. More or less.

As for the types of photography, the kit lens should do fine.

You might try the Olympus FE series.

http://www.olympusimage.com.my/products/compact/fe_series/

Most people don't consider this model... for some reason, but in my opinion it's a good camera. Check out the link.

Anyway, it'd help if you compare three of those cameras side-by-side to see which one has more pros over the other two.

If you really are a newbie to DSLR photography, I'd suggest you go for the Sony a200, Olympus E-520, Nikon D60, Nikon D80 or the Canon EOS-1000D. All 4 are really good for starting off DSLR photography.

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos1000d/

Have a look at the comparison charts found in this review. Reviews for the Olympus, Sony and Nikons can be found inside there also.

Happy searching.
