Play on the adaptor wont harm ur PSP. Even u put ur battery inside also wont harm cos ur PSP will cut off the power to the battery once it's fully charge. smile.gif

azamen87: no... it's not true. Play using only adapter wont harm on both PSP and battery.

According to the Li-ion battery FACTS, only if ur battery level is very low and never charge, then ur battery will kaput cos voltage drop to below normal. smile.gif So it's good to always charge ur PSP battery.

For Japan version, there's Monster Hunter Portable, Monster Hunter Portable 2, and Monster Hunter Portable 2G. All can transfer save file. smile.gif

If u wan buy, just go buy MHP2G lar. smile.gif (or US english MH: Freedom Unite)

There's 2 more version out there which is "unofficial fan-translate" of Japan version game. English and Chinese. smile.gif

CFWEnabler 3.51 released

New update for Custom Firmware Enabler application designed by Becus25 and Xenogears, which allows you to enable, through the ChickHEN Firmware 5.03 Some forms of M33 Custom Firmware PSP-2000 with TA-088v3 and the latest PSP-3000.

Changes?
- Fixed a bug when playing within Infraestructure
- New system version
- Improved the Pops flashing system
- New update server.

Added on July 6, 2009, 8:06 amUpdated guide to Custom Firmware Enabler 3.51

PSP3k / PSP2k (TA-088v3): Installing ChickHEN R2 mod2 for Firmware 5.03 & Custom Firmware Enabler 3.51

01) Make sure your official firmware is 5.03. To check, go to your System Settings menu -> System Information -> System Software Version 5.03

If your official firmware is above 5.03, then bad news, you cannot install custom firmware. Sorry, the below guide will not work.

If your official firmware is already 5.03, you can proceed to Step 02.

If your official firmware is below 5.03, you must first upgrade to the official firmware to 5.03. Follow the following steps below before going to Step 02.

01a) Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/249978622/OFW_5.03.zip

01b) Extract OFW_5.03.zip into your PSP's memory card.

01c) It should look like this:-
<Memory Card>\PSP\GAME
<Memory Card>\PSP\GAME\UPDATE
<Memory Card>\PSP\GAME\UPDATE\EBOOT.PBP

01d) Now you need to upgrade official firmware to 5.03. Put your memory card into your PSP with the files loaded above.

01e) Turn off your PSP. Press and hold the off button till it shutdowns.

01f) Turn on your PSP.

01g) Make sure your PSP battery is fully charged or the power adapter is connected.

01h) Go to your Games menu and open the Memory Stick icon.

01i) You should see the PSP Update ver 5.03. Press X on the PSP Update ver 5.03.

01j) Follow the instructions of the official firmware very carefully, and do not allow the process to get interrupted.

01k) Once done, go to your System Settings menu -> System Information -> System Software Version 5.03

01l) Remove
<Memory Card>\PSP\GAME\UPDATE
<Memory Card>\PSP\GAME\UPDATE\EBOOT.PBP

Installing ChickHEN

02) Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/252418359/Chic...nabler_3.51.zip

03) Extract ChickHEN_R2_mod2_for_Firmware_5.03___Custom_Firmware_Enabler_3.51.zip into your PSP's memory card.

04) It should look like this:-
<Memory Card>\h.bin
<Memory Card>\PSP
<Memory Card>\PSP\GAME
<Memory Card>\PSP\PHOTO
<Memory Card>\PSP\GAME\CFWEnabler
<Memory Card>\PSP\GAME\CFWEnabler\EBOOT.PBP
<Memory Card>\PSP\GAME\CFWEnabler\Pops
<Memory Card>\PSP\GAME\CFWEnabler\Pops\pops files here
<Memory Card>\PSP\PHOTO\ChickHEN
<Memory Card>\PSP\PHOTO\ChickHEN\ChickHENa.gif
<Memory Card>\PSP\PHOTO\ChickHEN\ChickHENb.gif
<Memory Card>\PSP\PHOTO\ChickHEN\ChickHENc.gif
<Memory Card>\PSP\PHOTO\ChickHEN\ChickHENd.gif
<Memory Card>\PSP\PHOTO\ChickHEN\slim_mod2.tiff

05) Now you need to get ChickHEN up and running. Put your memory card into your PSP with the files loaded above.

06) Turn off your PSP. Press and hold the off button till it shutdowns.

07) Turn on your PSP.

08) Go to your Photos menu and open the Memory Stick icon.

09) You should see the ChickHEN folder. Press X on the ChickHEN folder. Once you are in the folder, wait for all the images to load or immediately scroll all the way down (down button).

If your PSP screen suddenly goes weird and restarts, then you have successfully loaded ChickHEN. To check whether ChickHEN is loaded, go to your System Settings menu -> System Information -> System Software 5.03 ChickHEN R2

If your PSP hangs or shutdown, then ChickHEN is dead and you need to go back to Step 06 till you get it right. Sometimes you may need to repeat these steps a few times before successfully loaded ChickHEN.

Installing Custom Firmware Enabler

10) Now you need to get Custom Firmware Enabler (CFWEnabler) running. CFWEnabler enables you to play backup / homebrew games.

11) Go to your Games menu and open the Memory Stick icon.

12) You should now see CFWEnabler 3.51. Press X on the CFWEnabler.

For the first time, in the CFWEnabler program, Click on Flash and Start. NOTE: This is only for the first time, you will not see this again if it is already installed. If you are upgrading from previous version, Click on Uninstall then only Flash and Start.

For the second time onwards, pressing X will just restart your PSP.

13) Now you should have CFWEnabler successfully loaded. To check whether CFWEnabler is loaded, go to your System Settings menu -> System Information -> System Software 5.03 m33-6

14) At the PSP main screen, press Select, set, UMD ISO Mode = M33 driver.

15) You are now ready to go. Put backup / homebrew games into <Memory Card>\ISO folder and it will appear in your Games menu.

16) Once you have finished the game, just put your PSP into standby mode by pressing the off button quickly (don't hold).

17) If you have Off the PSP / changed battery / game crashed and shutdown, then go back to Step 06.

I read the whole manual, it actually say nothing wrong with playing while charging. It just mention it will charge longer than usual. And DO NOT PLAY without battery. If you accidentally unplug your power cable (twisting it also will make it temporary stop charging) , it will make the system shutdown and might damage the system .
If anything go wrong, you can sue them for misleading in manual smile.gif

anyways folks, this works somehow only for my psp3000 (its erratic, and has its own mood for some reason)

Photos --> ChickHEN

and

Photos --> ChickHEN_coloured (from the simplified coloured, still using the non-modified TIFF)

the coloured ones seem to have higher chance of loading, but here are 2 ways i achieve a near 60% success rate: (10 tries, 6 times loaded)

1) go to chickHEN folder, right before it loads the 2nd and the 3rd egg picture, press "O" (enter) to have the psp view the pic. Then press "X" or "<-" (exit).

Result: the .Tiff image won't load.

now,

go to ChickHEN_coloured, then quickly scroll to below

boom. (now its in homebrew mode!)

The other way which i also managed to achieve a 70% (7 out of 10 tries) is to completely duplicate the coloured contents on ChickHEN_coloured so that the pics increases to about 9 pics, and the 10th pic will be the tiff.

load, scroll down, boom.

why i'm using these methods? because the original folder (with eggs) have only a measly 4% success rate (1 out of 50) for me.

btw, i forgot, don't forget to set on "default settings!" on your psp before doing this!
