However, the colder you get the better, as is with all PhIIs.

Either AM2+ or AM3. Cheapest mobo is RM200-240 or so, though I recommend RM300+ ones for better build quality.

i`ve been using red scorpion almost 2 years in my X2

so far no probs...

in X4 940?dunno lar..

anybody here with an amd phenom II x4, with stock cooler fan?

how is the noise ? im still not satisfied coz my pc is kinda noisy, even with power saving mode. If hi performance mode no need to say la, loud like shiat.

And could the casing be the reason coz my casing has tiny2 holes where the noise can escape.(http://www.coolermaster.com/products/product.php?language=en&act=detail&tbcate=17&id=2908) but the side has only 1 fan (the pic in the link has 2 side fans).

I can hear the difference if i take a magazine and put it on top of the casing to prevent the noise from escaping.

Added on June 15, 2009, 1:06 amone more thing, i installed the latest version of amd overdrive, and the northbridge chipset is listed as 780G, but im using Asus M4A78T-E with 790GX chipset.

Then i installed Cpu-Z software, and it says im having 790GX. Which one is true ?

b4 this using stock cooler..not noisy..lol..
the noisy noise is GPU fan..dang bising..

actually it's the processor fan. Coz when i slow down the fan using amd overdrive, it's not noisy at all. But then im afraid the processor will overheat.

SO what's the temperature limit of the X4 955 processor ? Anybody knows ?

3rd party cooler would help alot.. (ex: AC Freezer Pro)

temp limit would be around 62...as stated at amd website....(last i checked, duno changed or not)

62 degree C is for 940. Still cant find the temp for 955. Maybe around that also la

better get archilles 1284c. it more better or amd processor as it will cover all 34 heatpipe. just ad a bit.
bought mine at 155. my 955be maximum load at 55c.
