Rules & Regulation
Game Version : v6.57b or the latest bug free version
Competition Method : 5 vs 5
Tournament Structure : Single Elimination
Match Length : Until a winner is decided
Match Winner : The team that completely destroys the opponent’s Ancient or if the opponent
team surrenders
The match will begin with a coin toss and winner of the coin toss will get to choose:
(a) Sentinel/Scourge side of the map or
(b) Draft order (1st/2nd pick)
The side that losses in the coin toss can choose the latter.
Hero drafting
Each team will be given 2 mins time frame to decide their respective hero bans/selection. Should a team fail to comply within the time frame the offending team selection turn will be skipped (the undrafted hero slot will be replaced with "Random")
Should any team selects a hero out of the drafting process in-game, offending team will be awarded a warning by the game marshal. Warnings awarded to offending team will be carried forward in the course of the entire tournament (29 & 30 Nov). Accumulation of 3 warning in the course of the tournament will result in disqualification
Game Mode
Captain Mode
1. Both teams will be allowed to take out up to 4 heroes from the pool of heroes at the start of the game. This will work based on a 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 format. Selecting team can choose to skip the removing hero process before the maximum 4 heroes limit
i. Team one will take out / skip the chance (1 hero)
ii. Team two will take out / skip the chance (1 hero)
iii. Team one will take out / skip the chance (1 hero)
iv. Team two will take out / skip the chance (1 hero)
v. Team one will take out / skip the chance (1 hero)
vi. Team two will take out / skip the chance (1 hero)
vii. Team one will take out / skip the chance (1 hero)
Viii. Team two will take out / skip the chance (1 hero)
A maximum of 8 heroes may be removed from the actual gameplay before the drafting session happens. Competing teams will proceed to hero drafting after hero removal process
2. Drafting heroes: 1-2-2-2-2-1 Format
i. Team one will pick - 1 hero
ii. Team two will pick - 2 heroes
iii. Team one will pick - 2 heroes
iv. Team two will pick - 2 heroes
v. Team one will pick - 2 heroes
vi. Team two will pick - 1 hero
Game Play
Sharing :
i. Sharing of item is allowed as long as the game permits
ii. Gamers not allow to suicide to pass Rapier intentionally
iii. Sharing control is allowed
Item Limitation:
i. There is no item limitation or restriction whatsoever
Backdoor:
i. In light of exploits from the latest version (6.56), the administration decides to RESTRICT the use of BACKDOOR strategy and game play for this tournament
ii. Towers are not to be hit without creep support unless it is deniable by the opponent. All other building/structures are not allowed to be backdoor without creep support despite deniable.
iii. Players are allowed to continue their assault on building/structures despite all ally supporting creeps are eliminated
iv. Should any dispute regarding the backdoor offense, the game marshal MUST be notified at once
v. The game marshal reserve all rights to pass judgment on the offending team. A game warning or a default game lost will be awarded depending on the severity of the offence
Hero Limitation:
i. There is no hero limitation or restriction whatsoever
Winning Condition:
i. Completely destroy the tree or the throne of the opponents’ team
ii. Should any team choose to concede/surrender in the midst of the game, an auto win will be awarded to the other respective team
iii. Should any accumulated 3 warnings in the course of the tournament, an auto win will be awarded to the other respective team
General Rules
Setup and Configuration:
I. Teams will be given 5 minutes to warm up before the match starts
II. No non-standard game settings or third party applications that affect game play may be used
III. Teams being caught using either will be punished at the game marshal’s discretion
IV. Replays of each match will be required by every team. In the event of a dispute, the tournament marshal may need to review a particular match replay
Personal Equipment:
I. Players are encouraged to bring their own gaming equipment but will be required to provide the drivers on a thumbdrive for installation if needed
II. The organizer will not be held responsible for any fault / damage arising to the installation
III. The organizer will not be responsible to provide full equipment to the participants
Disconnections & Save Game Process:
i. Competing teams are advised to save their games as frequently depending on the necessity as the game progresses
ii. Competing teams are advised to save after first blood or after any major battle in the progress of the game under the agreement of both competing teams
iii. Competing teams must bear all responsibility in saving the game throughout the tournament
iv. The game marshal/ organizer will not be responsible should any participating teams fails to obtain a save file should a PC error or crash occurs
v. In the event of any disconnection for the first 10 minutes of the game. The match will be restarted
vi. In the event of any disconnection after 10 minutes of game play. The match will be reloaded from the saved game file
vii. In the event a save file is lost after 30 minutes of game play. The game marshal holds all power pass verdict on who is the winner of the match depending on :
a) Each hero = 1 kill count
b) Tower = 3 kill count
c) Aegis = ½ kill count
d) Barracks = 5 kill count
viii. Should a match be restarted due to 10 minutes game play disconnection, all players MUST pick the same heroes & proceed to same starting lane with default items as before disconnection occurred. On initial creep contact, players may choose to switch lanes
ix. Respective teammates are allowed to use disconnected hero, but will not be allowed to transfer its items to other players. The items left by disconnected hero may be sold for gold dispersed evenly among the remaining players or remain on the hero itself
Sportsmanship Conduct & Bugs Exploitation:
i. Gamers must report to the respective game zone 10 minutes before the match. Participants who are late for more than 10 minutes will be disqualified. No dispute or whatsoever will be entertained
ii. Abusive behavior towards the organizer/game marshal/ opponent team will result in a warning. No foul language and abusive/racial behavior will be tolerated in the course of the tournament
iii. An individual is only allowed to play for 1 team ONLY throughout the course of the tournament
iv. Bugs Exploitation:
No Exploitation of any known old or new bug discovered during play. Explanations like "exploiting/activating the bug unknowingly", "we had no idea this bug existed" or similar excuses will not be entertained. Participants are required to update themselves with the latest competing tournament rules
Examples of Bugs:
* The latest Obsidian Destroyer bug.
* Activating the enemies team glyph of fortification is forbidden(e.g. with a crow)
* Creep pulling is considered a tactic and therefore is NOT considered a bug
These rules are for the Quas DOTA Super Gaming Cup 2008 are subject to modification in the following aspects:-
I. Use of most recent patch/version release of each official game within Quas organising committee’s own discretion
II. Changes to in-game settings and options necessitated by the use of most recent patch version/release
III. Cheat Protection Program release and/or cheat protection functions
IV. Game settings and/or operations guidelines dictated by differences between online and LAN Tournaments
Teams are responsible to check the rules on a regular basis and prior to every match to ensure they are in complete compliance. Teams must understand that rules listed are guidelines to ensure fair and competitive play and are subject to interpretation by the marshals based on the spirit of the game
Registration Process: 1. Participants are required to download the registration form and fill in all particulars upon submission via :
i. Quas Cyber Cafe
ii. Email to – QuasGaming@gmail.com
2. Participants are required to fill in and acknowledge an Indemnity Form upon confirmation of their registration
3. Participants are required to confirm their slots on the 29 November 2008 (Saturday) 9:00 am, Quas Cyber Café. Failure to do so will result in auto disqualification from the tournament. No favoritism of whatsoever will not be entertained
4. A total of 64 slots will be opened for registration
(due to good response from the gamers. We, QuasGaming will open the registration up to 64 slots.)
5. Dateline for registration : 27 November 2008 (Thursday), 8.00 pm
6. Failure to register within the stated period will not be entertained
