the price is actually quite cheap for cites 1 animal. and by cites 1, you know what i mean.
our you-know-who used to have throngs of them before you-know-what happened.

I used to know a guy who had Kachuga Tectas. He was aiming to breed and multiply the species. Just like Astrochelys yniphoras, they are branded as CITES 1 for a reason. Most of the time, such reason is due to extinction. But he failed and the animals were released to our ecosystem instead. Thanks to the heroic efforts from a certain authority. That guy has a message to the authority: "I am sure your efforts are praised by most of our dumb and blind society because you only portray the truth BUT NOT THE WHOLE TRUTH. Thanks to you, they may now end up being an invasive species. Congrats MOFO! Now please go back home, twist your d1ck towards your damn ar$ehole and fuc.k yourself. Why? Because you deserve it."

For your fuc.king info please.

Profanity unnecessary, Azazel.

Anyway, two wrongs don't make that guy right.

1. Obviously you haven't dealt with them before. Anyway, I do not wish to extend the matter further and therefore please accept my sincere apology Admin.

2. True. Unfortunately, "what's wrong" and "what's right" are just perceptions.

i've always been telling beginners here to be discreet, to opt for animals with proper documentation, etc but even that got scorned shakehead.gif

some moron even claimed that 'perhilitan told him' that cites animals can be kept without permits, making the impression that permits for cites 1 animals can easily be obtained, even had the 'courtesy' to tell me to update myself, etc.

well, breaking news - confiscations don't make headlines, and most of those who had problems with authorities won't bother telling their story.

What I want to know is whether if it would grow back or will it stay that way forever?

I'd tried searching on Google but found nothing, yet.

that looks like the keratin part, in which will grow back in time.

question: are there any corals in the setup?

There isn't any corals. Just drift wood and a cuttlefish bone. Oh, and an ornamental bridge! Could that have chipped it?

So it's something like a finger nail that would grow back? Does it take really long?

I just realized that my tortoise with a chipped beak (His name is Loti) bites anything he sees. Including a rock with jagged edges. Somehow I got a feeling that it would be very hard for that keratin to grow back. =/

Oh, and I got some live shrimps for them to chase about in the aquarium. biggrin.gif
Loti caught one and ate it the way a snake would! The one he caught was like 1.6" long, and he's only like, 3"? 0.o

I wonder if eating something that mega would hurt his insides, since the recommended serving portions are the size of the said tortoise's head. :/

Anyone here had experiences like this?

rheum is completely normal. eyes do produce mucus, so as long as it is not excessive, there is nothing to worry about.

why are you asking for trouble?

as capsicums vary greatly in scoville count, the results could vary from nothing severe to very severe.

hi guys, i've been researching abt stars since i am taking care of one at the moment...
i mostly heard that star tortoise have to be kept in a dry environment and to watch out from humidity as it can effect them badly, but the other day i came across another website which was explaining how star tortoise in india actually live hidden in the humid jungle and come out to dry spots just to bask... thats when they are normally caught to be sold afters... is this info right?
cos i tried keeping my star in a dry and warm environment, with uvb light, infrared light... i keep it in a wooden box i made but i did not add a hiding cave cos else my star just sleeps in it all the time and does not recieve any uvb light... i do soak it once a day and it also has a water plate in the box...
also feeding is pretty hard cos it would not even touch the pellets and barely touch other types of veggies, it only seems to like french beans (which i know are high in prot, therefore i gave it a break) and pumpkin T_T
i really want my tort to keep going... sigh... but the mortality rates scare me like hell...
anybody got some good tips for me :-)

well, obviously i am asking for opinions before taking any actions as i am not sure. that is what forums are for isn't it, asking for opinions/share thougts, etc? since i've read that peppers are allowed, what about capsicums?

Try cutting the foods and mix em together( More veggies then beans ). Mine seems to be doing good with it.

How about basking.. how often did you bask them?
