recently i bought premium acc coz i think it will boost up my dl speed..

but still 100kbps..

btw i'm using streamyx 1mb..

i heard that package can make rapidshare dl speed to 200kbps..

is there something wrong with my pc...

someone pls help me..

are you using 1mb streamyx line? The max download speed for 1mb streamyx is 105kbps... so whether you've got premium or not, the max will still be 100

It depends on your luck lor, sometimes TM Net will cap your 1Mbps a little higher, or a little lower.

While in your case, I think TM cap your speed almost exactly 1Mbps.

You might want to try all of the servers to find your best speed.

100kb is good enough for 1mb package
my dl speeds around 60 to 70kb only

I m a free user but sometimes my speed can reach 120~133kbps..wonder why?

lol bro...rs account not for increase speed...well maybe a bit true but the real reason is to download without having to wait actually.

The limitation here is your line, not Rapidshare's speed.

are you ok? Where got such thing? your line 1mbps of course u get 1mbps. IF streamyx miscap u then u might get 2mbps.

Some ppl got miscap they apply 1mbps they give them 1.5mbps to 2mbps.

If you report them to streamyx they will cap them back to 1mbps


And yes like 1 of the forumer said your limit is your line not rapidshare ive seen ppl got up to 10mbps

Streamyx miscap u. Try call streamyx and reset your port 100% it goes back to 1mbps

they said my speed is normal..so if i dl from rapidshare 100kbps but from speedometer 656kbps..is that right??

if speedometer shows 656 its 65kb only.

Mine shows 850

depends on area and location. Last time the CC ive work there the boss paid the streamyx guys to uncap it to 3mbps for a 1mbps line.

If u paying 1mbps u should get at least 750-1000

If 600+++ its not normal

so what should i do? what "cap" is?

there is difference between kB=kiloByte and kb=kilobit.. u should take notice that. ur 1 mbit line can download maximum 1000kb/s or 125kB/s. remember streamyx only guarantee u will get 70% of this speed and that 70% only for local connection. so yeah.. its normal..

but no doubt....some fibre optic cable area...u paid rm66 512kbps line but u got 1.5mbps line...damn iri hati abt them paid cheap but get more then that

your maths very good wei. 600kbps = 70% of 1mbps.




Cap means actually your line can go up to 4mbps but they lock it at 1mbps because ure paying for 1mbps.

Sometimes they lock it higher because not many ppl in the area using.

I think the simple word is "limited to".

I will be freaking happy if I got 100KBps download speed since I only got 60-80KBps (1Mbps user).
Most RS Premium users here suggested try to change IP because you can improve your download speed on certain IPs.

try different server too, like global crossing 2 and 1, or teleglobal

teleglobal & Deutsche Telekom is fast.
download time will b a lot faster (up to x2) in the night.
mayb coz lots of people is downloading in the morning & afternoon so u'll get less share of the bandwidth.

people seams 2 confuse of kbps & kBps.

1 kB (kilobyte) = 8kb (kilobite).

our streamyx package says 1mb is referring to 1000kb.
if u hav 1mb line, assume dat u get full 100%, dats means 1000/8 = 125 kB only.
the download speed dat shown on every download engine is kBps.
so u can't complain 2 much, 100kBps already very good.

btw, i'm downloading from rapidshare now..............
