Hey guys.

I'm a happy Warrior Priest on Darklands, but my friend who's a lvl 19-20 (probably will hit 20 tonight, lol, he plays that much) Dwarf Engineer is really frustrated and unhappy he chose Order.

sad.gif He says he keeps meeting gits who either AFK at BGs or are just plain assholes.

Any of you guys have any tips for him to have a better time online in WAR?

Feel free to say Hi to him if you meet him: his toon's name is Dorgar.

Or did I make a mistake posting his name here else he'll be the fave target of all you Destro fans? LOLOL tongue.gif

Blame World of Warcraft for those trends.

I felt regret in rolling Order too. I have a R24 RR20 swordmaster and deleted it due to horrible teamwork within guilds.

There is no way to advice him to stay Order if he didnt like how is it going on the side but AFKing in scenarios is really a common thing now and its something we have to live with it until Mythic implement AFK timeout in scenarios.

same thing happens on destro side, darklands too. i met quite some afkers myself. it's not which side you choose but the players you play with unfortunately. i find the players around 6pm - 1am to be a much better crowd. but playing as destro on darklands, that's the peak hours and logging in would at least take you 1/2hr+/-...

so you both can either weather it out by continuing to play on or go reroll destro somewhere else? in my opinion, it would be quite a waste to delete rank20 chars. maybe that's just me =/

Yeah, the AFKers are a pain. Mind you, sometimes I even AFK if I see that we're losing a fight though but only when Order hits around 400.

One thing I do notice though is the lag I'm facing where I see a whole bunch of players standing still at the spawn point and then later we're moving.

I actually rolled Order on a NA server for the downtime period on Monday. Haven't tried any of the scenarios yet. Will do it and have a looksee. smile.gif

how's the latency on NA server?

I'm getting alot of frozen and missing toons too due to the lag. Sometimes, i just give up and alt-tab to do other stuff while waiting for it to go back to normal.

First of all, Stunties Engineer is a rather unique class to play (much like the Magus), they're a range support class that won't really do much damage but can really turn the tide in a battle.

What's BG? Anyway... as much as I dislike people who go AFK while fighting in Scenarios. These are real people playing. Who knows? They could be lagging? They could be distracted by things from the real world (their mom asking them to take out the trash? Their GF asking them to do this and that? etc).

Basically, to really have fun in WAR is to join a guild. Especially when it's a RvR/PvP game. Running around alone or with 2 of his friends will get them ganked and pretty soon, it's gonna be frustrating because numbers = strength. For the moment, strategy and tactics are still pretty much shallow in game. Perhaps, the Devs will revamp things a bit to make it more complex, perhaps not. Also, playing with guild mates, you would usually queue with guild mates and join scenarios together.

This IS NOT World of Warcraft so bringing that mentality over to play WAR isn't going to help much.

The Older Gamers are a great bunch of people, indeedly they are! Atleast the few I've met and worked together with between our two communities over the pass year.

@Noyze - Heck they have people older that 61 in the guild. Even CO has grandfathers (58), with kids, and grandkids playing. Ask your uncle to go for it! biggrin.gif

AFKs are indeed a pain. Wish EA/Mythic puts policies like Blizzard did.

AFK = ban

Solution is to make your own group and permanent ban them or leave scenario group with afk and join other. For me, I would ban Korean Netcafe Mafia.

and just so happens that one day when you just started scenario, someone rang the front door, there's no one home... so you need to go answer it which take you away for at least 5 minutes... you come back to the game and oh... you've been banned. blink.gif

I think Darklands scenario quite 'active' and lively if you compare with Ironclaw. Maybe i am low rank newbie, i don't have to wait long to join a scenario.

I will consider to switch from Destruction side to order side, Blight Wizard and Rune Priest looks like very nice class to be played. biggrin.gif
