ok then =)
A blog system it is. Arguably it can be customized into a CMS, but since I cant think of a category for that, a blog system it is.

i think the fact that wordpress.com is a blog and even wordpress.org sez

WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.

More simply, WordPress is what you use when you want to work with your blogging software, not fight it.

if you look at WP right at the installation, it is a blog already. an actual CMS would be a CMS right after installation, eg Joomla.

Wordpress CMS system is pathetic at best, so tedious to sort page order.

haiyah if like that we might as well list out all the search engines. biggrin.gif like that then this thread pointless already.

but 2 things i think good for webmaster

1. Google Webmaster Tool
2. Yahoo SiteExplorer.

It depends on the requirement of the author also bah. If you want the page to display some contents and doesn't require much update, any web app will do.

But if you have large volume of content you would choose a good CMS to help you organize your content.

if your website has new content any now and then and you would like to get response from visitors, blogging software will be better bah

yes. correct.

if update not often, the don't even need CMS. smile.gif just standard HTML site will do.

of course, some people don't know how to HTML so CMS would be helpful. i did my friend's site using Wordpress as CMS

I developed my own CMS also (for not much content but don't want to type in HTML code when update page)

pretty simple and light weight, no fancy fancy feature of monster like CMS. Most important is you can update content fast and easy
