The Nintendo DSi is compatable with all Nintendo DS games including Nintendogs, except the ones that requires the usage of the GBA slot (Guitar Hero: On Tour for example).

The price of DSi in Japan is 18,900 Yen which is around RM 700, the local price will be higher than that though.

How you gonna play it if Nintendo didn't release the game to be play on the DSi in the first place? I guess you have to wait and see if they will make a Virtual Console for the DSi.

u still need slot-2 pak in order to play gba games on dsl. dsl hardware is not capable on running gba games from slot-1.
