Connection + Servers + Patches1. What is the latency like for Malaysian Gamers?Latency is around 0.3 second of delay on an oceanic server. (300ms)
2. What do you mean by changing IPs?disconnect and reconnect your streamyx, you'll get a different set of IP everytime. Certain IP are less laggy than others.
so far for Streamyx :
60.50.xx.xx : BAD
60.48.xx.xx : good
218.111.xx.xx : sometimes good/bad
218.208.xx.xx : best and rarest IP in streamyx

5. Where do I get a copy of the patches?patches are automatically downloaded from the game patcher.
6. What's the difference between Core, Realm RvR and Role-playing servers?Core : PVE (Players can go back to lower tiers without turning into chicken but will turn to Chicken when entering lower tier RvR zones)

Looking for Players1. Which server do you all play? Most if not all Malaysian / LYN.net members play in Oceania Servers while some may be in US servers. Most active in Darklands and Ironclaw, some people in Anlec.
2. Which server is better? It solely depends on your play style. Core, Open and Core RP each has it's own play style.
3. Which faction is better? But, it solely depends on how good or evil you want to be.
4. Which class is better? All classes are good in their own way. Choose one you find most interested in.
It solely depends on what classes you prefer to play. Majority of WAR's classes are different from other typical MMORPGs. i.e Some healers are hybrids like Disciples of Khaine and Warrior Priests, meaning they need to do damage in order to heal well. Magic DPS like Sorceress and Bright Wizards can get backlash (meaning they damage themselves while damaging the enemy). There's the Engineer Dwarf class that's lays down gun turrets. There's the Shadow Warrior (a bit like Ranger) who excels at long and medium range as well as melee fights.
5. How do I look for people for PvE?'/who' command can see who is in your zone, at the same time you can click on the 'open parties' icon below your portrait to join any open party.
Also, most of the time as you move into a new 'chapter', if you notice on your top left of the screen, right below your avatar, there will be something that pops up for a moment informing you of "Open Parties" within your area. Alternatively click the button right below your avatar to view existing "Open Parties" in the whole area to join. There you will see the leader name, and what the party is doing (PVE, PQ or RVR).
6. How do I look for people for PvP?'/who' command can see who is in your zone, at the same time you can click on the 'open parties' icon below your portrait to join any open party.
Also, if you're new you will progress to RvR areas. RvR areas are always just next to Warcamps. By pressing the "M" key for MAP. You will be able to see where the Warcamp is. The Warcamps are usually 3/4 way along the main road (not the dotted lines.. those are paths) from the next map.
7. What is an Open Party?Open Party means anyone can join your party. To disallow this, right click on your name and select Party Options and uncheck Open.
Gameplay1. What is a keybinding?
2. Where do I find a list of keybindings?
3. Can I change the keybinding?
4. How do I target enemies/friendly players better?
On Default, the TAB key cycles through your nearest targets.
5. How do I play better?
6. How do I speak to people?
7. What are Tomes and how do I get them?
Go to the 2 links below for more details on what Tomes are :
Warhammer Alliance : Bestiary Tome UnlocksTome TacticsLeveling1. How do I level up?QuestsWhat you get?
Experience, equipment, crafting items, Tome knowledge unlocks.
Public Quest (PQ)What you get?
Experience, Influence Points and a chance to roll for a loot bag reward for completing the PQ.
ScenariosWhat you get?
Experience, Renown Points, unique items and gears from the corpse of dead player
2. Can I level up in Scenarios (PvP) or the Realm vs Ream (RvR) portion of the game?-Yes you can, infact it would be recomanded by many to RvR as much as you can even at level 1 to earn renown while you level.
3. Where do I go for quests?-Go to the green indicator on your map, this will show you the avalable quest and head towards the RED circle on your map for the quest objective.
Click here to view a Podcast-video about Quests from EA. Easy to view and understand.
4. Where do I go to look for more information?-Matters on what information you are looking for acctualy, but if its questing information just look into your tome of knowledge
5. Is there a leveling guide?-None that i know off at the moment, game is kind of new, but leveling in warhammere is not a problem at all
6. Does forming a party help?-Forming a praty to RvR or to public quest or just to simply kill mobs and quest a little helps alot, in many ways, you can get more organised if you form a group to do public quest and also more ogranised if your RvR in a group, just make shure not to steal loots and you will be well on your way
Fight fight!1. What is PvP?PvP stands for Player Versus Player. You are no more bashing on AI-controlled monsters but players controlled by humans (not sure which one is the best sometimes but well...

)
In Warhammer it usually means fights between small number of players on each side or scenarios
2. What is RvR?RvR stands for Realm Vs Realm. It is a term created (and copyrighted) by Mythic in their previous game Dark Age of Camelot (
DAOC Website).
It involves fights between "Realms" or faction (Order against Destruction in Warhammer) for control over Keeps or Objectives. It is supposed to be one of the main focus in Warhammer.
Each zone will have some Battle Objectives (BOs) and Keep to take over.
2.1 How do I take a Battle Objective? You take one BO by killing the 5 guards around it and then clicking on the banner.
One of the guard is a tougher Hero so come prepared. A small group of people (3-6) can take BOs if their damage output is enough, they have a healer and someone who can moderately keep control of the monster (ie: a tank)
Try to kill the guards fast as they respawn quite quickly if your dps is not fast enough
2.2 How do I take a Keep? For Tier 2: The keep is composed of only one big tower.
First you need to break the doors. You do so usually by using a Ram (see below for how to use siege weapons) but you can actually attack the doors like any other monster or player.
Defenders can use the oil.
Both sides also have access to several siege weapon pads to build up Catapults or ballistas (again, see below)
One the doors are down, you need to go to the 1st floor using a ramp. At this floor you will see the Lord of the Keep guarded by 4 guards. You need to kill the Lord to take over the keep
Tier 3 and 4: same as Tier 2 except the keeps also have an external walls with another door you need to break through (using the same means as for Tier 2 doors)
A brief outline of Keep Sieging is written here as well as a podcast about it.3. How do I survive better?Do not die
4. What is a Scenario?Scenarios are short battles in instanced map between team of the same number of players. They are quite equivalent to the Battlegrouds in WoW.
The rules for each are quite different (Capture the Flag, Tug-of-war etc.) and explained in the loading screen of the scenario itself
5. How do I get into different scenarios in different regions? You can only queue up for the scenario in the zone you are in. For example if you are in Ostland (Chaos Tier 2) you can only queue for the scenario Trolls Crossing.
If you want to queue up for other scenarios at the same time:
- Either travel to the other pairing (Dark Elves or Orc) and queue up there yourself
- Ask someone who is in these other pairings to party with you, you can then queue up the whole party for all the scenarios
6. What are siege weapons?Rams: They are used to break the doors of the Keeps
Ballista-lie: Usually used to destroy other sieges weapons (1 target)
Catapults-like: Usually used to damage large group of people (AoE target)
Boiling Oil: used to damage rams trying to break through doors and players using it
6.1 Where can I buy siege weapons? You can buy the siege weapons in all Warcamps. There is a special NPC there named "Quartermaster" that sells all of them.
Notice that each Siege Weapon can only be used in its own tier. A Tier 2 weapon can only be used on the Tier 2 weapon Pad so you cannot use a Tier 2 Ram to assault a Tier 4 keep
7. How to use the siege weapons?Rams: 4 people. The first to use it will start the "swing".
You need to click when the cursor is as close as possible of the mark but never AFTER. The closer you get from the mark the more powerful the swing will be. If you go pass the mark, the power will only be 50%. It's kinda similar to many old school golf games actually
Oil: Just click and it will pour down the oil
Ballistas-like: just aim and left click to fire
Catapult: it will fire where the purple marker is. Use the mouse wheel to move it up or down. Left click to fire
8. How do I play better in PvP / RvR?Stay with the group. Try to act smart by doing what you are supposed to do.
Heals if are you are healer.
Tanks should go in front, Guard people getting fired upon, try to stop enemies, ie: be annoying for the opposition
Dps: Pew Pew... but do not get stupid. You are not as tough as tanks. Going in the middle of a group of enemies and blaming the healers when you die is stupid. This is not a game for solo actions.
Gearing up1. What are the different levels of gear?-There are a few diffrent level of gears, the ones i know are:
a.Green(are easy to come by drop rate is quite high)
b.Blue(harder to come by and drop rates are lower then green, but stat's and bonus are better/higher then green ones)
c.Epic(Even much harder to get compared to blue, but its worth the find high stats also high bonus)
d.Myth(iv only seen the tag in an auction house never seen it my self before)
2. How do I get PvE gear?PVE gears are easly obtainable trough many ways some known ways are:
a.Influance grinding
b.Farming
c.Quest rewards
d.Public Questing(PQ)
e.Grabing them off the auction house
3. How do I get Renown Gear?Only one way to get the Renown gears or also known as RvR or PvP gears. that is trough RvRing and also doing some PQ(public quest) or also assulting a keep/fortress, this would earn your renown in due time accoring to your renown rank you can get higher level gears that would be purchaseable from the Renown Gear Vendor.
4. What are these "tiers" or "pairings" I keep hearing about?Tiers: Warhammer zones are separated by Tiers depending of your current level.
Level - Tier
1-11: Tier 1
12-21: Tier 2
22-31: Tier 3
32-40: Tier 4
Pairing: The tiers zones are separated for each races and this is named Pairing.
For example for Destruction each tier will have Chaos, Dark Elves and Greenskins pairing.
So when people are referring to Tier 3 Chaos pairing, they are referring to the Tier 2 Chaos zones (High Pass and Talabecland).
Tier 3 DE (Dark Elves) would refer to Avelorn and Saphery maps
etc.
