Hmmm.. a squier california series strat with ALDER body ? Now... if this is the affinity, maybe.. but it's the california series.

And how would he tell anyway?

Take a look at the asking price..

rm 580... that's new price even for a brand new california series strat.

This guitar is a year old, used, and he's asking for 580 retail, with selling point of alder body....... and even if it's true, would the price be justified?

So.... how many noobs would fall for this sales pitch ?

Edit: our friend took down his post, here's the cache.

last time i go to bentley they sell RM950 for squire ( not a bolt neck )

hmm.. shocking.gif

well.. its his own guitar anyway. hes got the right to put the price as he like but.. i hope the future buyer do a survey first before deciding to buying it nod.gif

Bentley price is for a squier standard, not a california series which goes for retail rm 580.

Anyone who buys new can get a discount for rm 540 and there was even a time they went on offer under 500.

wats to discuss?
its obvious the seller just took the specs from the squier standard series.
the twin-pivot bridge in his specs is obviously not on the guitar hes selling.

and of cos the official specs for squier california series is not available, cos its not for sale in the US...

average squier strat is around rm900 to rm1000, so selling a second hand at rm580 before "discount", less than one-year old... it sounds reasonnable ! Don' you think ?

Agathis or basswood... i doubt that it could be a winning point at this price range smile.gif

BODY: Alder (this is not the agathis one; so it's better grade wood!)

Okay, this is the alder wood grain:

Look alike but I do not believe because obviously this seller selling his California series with the Standard series specification. If I were to buy, I take a good look on it first.

For beginners, they might fall into this easily because they do not know anything about wood. They just want the shape and the brand. No offense anyway.
