so wrong.

Read the latest news people...this perception about "AMD = gaming, Intel = home" was only true back in ~ 2004. Right now Intel is doing much better than AMD in almost all markets. Xeon, penryn, atom...and the upcoming larrabee and nehalem..all these are pushing intel up to the top. but im not saying AMD is bad...they're still a good choice, but no great reason to go to AMD over intel yet.

but AMD is still in the game and MAY triumph over intel with their fusion chips later. the future will tell us.

If you game a lot you will notice that AMD performance is unstable, sometime first and sometime slow. Intel is much more stable as they lock the maximum speed.

Clock for clock PUMA can't fight Centrino 2. But if you factor in the graphics performance where PUMA has ATI HD 3200 vs Intel's rather mediocre but buffed up GMA X4500, then can fight. But that depends on what you want to do with your laptop.

I would go for PUMA if looking at the price/performance ratio and go for Centrino 2 if money is not an issue for its stability and higher bus speed (and branding if you are into that)

Choose AMD only if you want TOP performance for gaming and Graphic design purpose.
Other than that, better use Intel =)
