Hi all

I have been useing Xp for the past 2 months on my Acer Aspire 4315 and everything works fine, i have always dream to work on Linux because i had a lots about Linux OS, a friend gave me Ubuntu Cd and i installed it fine on my laptop but having difficulty to connect to the internet.

I am connect theough Maxis and also through a router because there are like 3 laptop in my Flat.

Please what do i need to do to connect to internet through my Ubuntu ( Remember my Xp works fine with internet on the same Laptop)


I will appreciate Help from Members here

not so clear...

assuming your NIC driver was installed already, try run "sudo ifconfig -a" in terminal did u see any IP?..

First to clarify my post.

i was only explaning my connection because am new to these.

we have 3 laptop in my Flat, and are connected to Maxis brodband.

I tried the command you gave me and this was the result

seems like there's no connection at all.. do u usually connect to your router using wireless?

i think your driver for wireless card not installed yet..

please give the output of "sudo lspci"
