If you said Sony gave them a CD, they must have been passed a Soul Calibur OST CD. SC2 had Link for the Gamecube version, thus his tune must have been collected in the OST.

Maybe they thought the song was cute or more familiar to malaysians leh, tats why they chose the song. Maybe they never intended to match with SC4.
