well...thats what you get mar when you pass lesser liao sweat.gif

ohya, didnt read ur post properly yesterday.... the fan noise normally is depending on cfm rating and size of the fan.....if the cfm is just around 30 like that for a 92mm fan, then it shud be quite silent....

otherwise, u can just look at the dba rating of the fan but that one sometimes not accurate though....

Wth, you fap with your heatsink? Ouch so pain!

erm...i nvr really follow up on what cooler is the best for i5 and i7....

but from what i remember, a forummer named metsatsu is using ultima-90 for a quad core last time and its result is quite good....

dont worry la

most of the time hsf nowadays comes with a silent fan....

and the fans will be automatically controlled to rev up and down according to cpu load....

most of the time fans will be low speed (silent) if ur cpu is idle

it's a pity that thorhammer can't be in east-west config w/ d stock clip for amd, else it'd be perfect. nod.gif

Wow.. That's quite cheesy..

Anyway, was wondering if sound insulation will cause a heat build up in the casing? (i.e. stick some of those sound dampening foams at the side panel etc)

direction of air being suck into the cooler should be from a fresh source....not from below such as above the graphics card slot....Exhausted air should flow towards fans that are pushing air out from the case... rclxms.gif

that's the basic of FIFO design for cpu cooler.
cool airs come in from outside of the case, went thru the heated fins, and gone thru the exhaust blow holes with the help of rear fan.
