My friend just sent me an email about Wimax Ready-Laptop. It is already selling in Indian Market. The price is about $300-$400 (RM900-RM1200).
My God ! That's cheap la .. but depend on spec too.. Wonder when Malaysia will have it too.. Or Malaysia already got it ? hmm.gif

Hope you all don't think buying the laptops from India can be used in Malaysia. India WiMAX is running on 2.5Ghz.

Do you have the source? Based on the chipset of this notebook, it doesn't seem to have inbuilt WiMAX capability.

The poster mentioned that Wimax and GPS are sold as extras accesories, my guess is that the Wimax receiver comes in USB form just like current USB wifi devices.

yah, they are optional extras. i think it will be embeded into the laptop. if its a usb dongle, its quite "mah fan" to carry around.

Weird, reading their technical specification doesn't actually say it supports WiMAX.

But anyhow, i believe this version will only be sold in the USA but not in Malaysia yet as the current Intel chipset (Centrino 2) can only support 2.5 Ghz. Even if we bought the laptop, we still won't be able to use it in Malaysia.

It will be great if Malaysia can support that too. I don't think the price will be cheap like in India. lol
