Roland Emmerich's only good film is Stargate, which launched another franchise of geek just like Star Trek and STar war. Man they all have the word 'star' in it.
I still feel insult after watching his film 10,000 B.C, everything in it hurts the brain of those who watch it.

I just cant get enough of this kind of movie. Love those CGI graphics.

BTW, Mayan did not predict world's end, their calender just stopped at that particular time. So the scientist assume, its apocalypse. No one actually knows why they stopped counting on that date.

Anybody watched the documentary about this on History Channel last night? I only watched the first hour, had to go to sleep by 11pm.

I thought the Mayan calendar that ends in 2012 was the sole reason people make theories about end-of-world disaster in that year, but there is actually something really happening astronomically as well. In that year the Sun will align with the center of our Milky Way galaxy, causing a "galactic eclipse" ( the Sun is right in the middle between Earth and the galaxy center). This happens every 26,000 years, the next one is in 2012. Another note, the last Ice Age was 13,000 years ago, which is half of the 26,000 years cycle.

Not sure what will actually happen, but the Sun has really big influence to its planets. Remember, just because the Earth tilts 23.5 degrees on its axis, the northern hemisphere will have winter whenever the Earth tilts up. So anything could happen (though I'm praying hard that nothing would happen).

I don't believe we can ever predict when the-end-of-the-world will happen, but this is interesting. According to the documentary, there are clues from other civilizations as well. And even Nostradamus predicts it (again, not that we should believe it).

Why pray when its god's plan just accept it.

yes it does, if its gonna happen, to what extent, and what level of damage. (natural disasters i mean)
we've got multiple earthquakes in indon, typhoons near philippines, and yet we do not feel these as it doesnt come near. (the earthquake might be felt, but no buildings crumble yet despite kl on limestone)
also, no big flooding yet in kl, etc etc. should count our blessings

the bible has been tainted by humans touch so not sure which is Gods word and whats written by man.
but yes, in terms of apocalypse, end of the world, judgement day, we do not prepare for it by trying to save ourselves, as it will mean the end, but serves as a reminder to repent for good while theres still chance.
im not pious so just sayin, when the time comes, its just human nature to turn to God.
