prolimatech megahalems n ifx-14 is a better choice... v10 is just overhyped just because of their "TEC" which cools the heatpipes rather than the processor itself -___-

hey, any ideas on why after overclocking to 3.4ghz (400x8.5) the computer can run stably for very long.. even after burning on intelburntest for 20 loops.. den when shutdown, leave for few hours, den on com, can pass POST but then goin to load windows, the com restarts n bios change bak to stock settings (333x8.5).

restart all ok, oni when shutdown n left for few hours..

did u check ur ram voltage?

and u shud try adding a lil bit of NB voltage and then Vfsb....

try to set ur performance level (trd) of ram to 10 and make sure all loose timing....

I managed 8*400 on my X3350 C1 using 1.2V vcore (default 1.1875V) and everything else at normal voltages, using a UD3R. Even on a EP35-DS3 I only needed 1.225V vcore, rest all normal. I think you just need higher vcore only.

Sorry dude. But a question for u.. did u know how to OC? If not then learn more and try again until u sucessfully make your OCed PC stable.
Tip for you, increase the FSB slowly and test for stability for each increment, increase the voltage when necessary, keep the memory timing loose....

Nop. Coz i'd reached 100C with 1.35V @4.10 GHZ .. no problem... this is IBT stress. So the temperature is higher. During Prime95 the temperature @80C+ full load
Anyway, i wouldnt recommend anyone running their proc with the temperature that high daily either.

Note: That overclocking attempt... It's not rock solid stable. Trust me. Passed 25 loops IBT and prime95 small fft for 3hours but failed prime95 mid~large FFT (blend) within 3 minutes.
Probably need extra vmem and vnb and couple of tweaks.... will attempt to make it stable if i have a time to do it....
The only rock solid stable clock for my processor w/ P5Q Deluxe is @3.70GHz which is the sweet spot (less vcore/low FSB/low load temp @80C IBT/super rock stable) of the proc. Running 24/7 now.

@kilowatt
Relax dude... just don't give up. Your ASUS M2F is a good motherboard.... Give a bit more try(depend on your OCing skill)... I'm sure you will reach your targeted clock (of course it must be realistic clock).
