QUOTE(zer0hour @ Sep 9 2008, 06:08 AM)
Well my processor is a tray (OEM) one as well. IMO OEM processors are perfectly fine - the death rate of Intel processors is so low. With EE processors even more so - those are Intel's highest binned and best silicon.

Also, pinpinmiao's a pretty reliable seller i think - I've never personally dealt with her, but her thread's full of good comments.

Ok now the million dollar question: Is it worth it to buy a QX9650 over a Q9550? If your plan is value for money, then no, the Q9550's a way better buy, and you're better off spending the RM900 or so you save on a 4870x2. Only buy the QX9650 if your plan is speed at any cost =p
*

Thanks mate. All I need to ensure no bottleneck occurred with my system.
Read some reviews state that 3.5 quad core is the best assurance.
Planning to get 4870. If I feel that 4870 x2 is worth it, then will grab that otherwise.
Need to get Logitech G25 to play grid now.

IMHO, 3.2 ghz is d sweet spot for quaddies...
quaddies are famus for d temp issue...
even my x3320 on 3.075ghz is hotter than my E2160 and using stock vcore je.... sweat.gif

Yup, I'm using the I45. It's very good, can get my fsb up to 500 with the x3320. My old IP35E was hitting a wall at around FSB470.

Shawn - you're welcome. Best of luck with it smile.gif

Yupz this is very true though. I45 is very fussy - any settings wrong = cannot boot or BSOD. IP35E whatever settings also most of the time can boot one =p

I'm using the BIOS - never believed in using the software. And yes, it's way more complicated. Many settings =p
