hi, my firefox will shut down automatically when i visit certain websites, such as some blogs from blogspot, facebook, some other websites. I tried to reinstall but it doesn't seems to help.

Anybody encountered this before?

Not sure whether is it caused by flash. U may give a try by following the solution provided by this link

try remove libflashsupport using 'sudo apt-get remove libflashsupport' . I don't have problem with firefox before, until i'm install it. but remember if u using pulseaudio server, maybe you will not get sound with flash files.

or you install a free ones

lol mine is caused by flash. But not only firefox shuts down, the whole computer restarts hahaha
This only happens when i minimize firefox though... so i just have to remember not to minimize it xD

had this problem with firefox then i disabled flash and all the unnessary plugins and all's good.

uninstall it
delete the registry and install again
since the installation is so easy

Try using this addon: Flashblock https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433

It disables all Flash content until you click on it. Good for disabling certain Flash content until you really need it.

try update ur flashplugin, if ur using 64bit, it might b the nspluginwrapper's fault haha n adobe's fault for not making 64bit build! smile.gif linux has been in 64bit for so many yrs!

no, i think not flash problem kut, please some Pro to comment here, i face this problem also before, but i don't bother it because once it close and i open the page again then o k already, only little not convenient

It doesn't has to be flashplugin problem. It could be java/javscript problem, or just internal firefox problem such as memory leak.
What I could suggest is, try use strace to do some debug and see what cause your firefox to crash.
