@East_wing: Hello there. corns, king and bp's are good beginner snakes. Im by no means an expert (beginner here myself) but from all the research I have done let me share with you what I know about these snakes.

Let me start with the bp cos thats what I have and thats what I want to keep/breed. Pros: docile nature, 4-6 feet in length and thick bodied. Cons: Some have problems feeding. A bit too docile lol. I can go for parties with my ball around my wrist and people think that hes a cool looking bangle or something and he will just stay there the whole time.

Corns and kings are a bit more active (or at least the ones ive seen) and not as thick bodied .... they look like thick cords. Maybe they settle down once they get used to you. Not too sure about this. And you shouldnt have feeding problems with corns and kings. They grow to about 6 feet as well.

I basically chose to keep balls due to their size and their temperament. I was lucky cos my current ball has no issues eating ... Heck if i put 1 mice a day he would probably keep eating ;P Also I love the ball python morphs.

Hope this info helps your decision.

East_wing: Try to get a toyogo box as the enclosure. Container too small la, the most can be temporary for baby colubirds only.

Bolehreptiles: Thanks for sharing. I learn another thing today.

East Wing, , i suggest you keep cornsnake as first snake. The reasons are :-

1) Easier to keep. Cornsnake is as hardy as ball python minus feeding challenges.
2) No need licence from PERHILITAN.
