DO NOT DO THAT!!! lol..

they are dirty, carry unbelievable amount of parasites or maybe diseases, and very very nasty.. it can hurt the snake and you yourself..

i once caught a big drain rat at my house.. its was sooo nasty, even when i come near it, it started squeaking and attacking..

usually around 2 yrs old or depending on their weight.. make sure their weight around 1200g or 1500g before start breeding them.. coz if da ball too thin, it may lead to small cluthes or small eggs..

(well, im not an expert on breeding, me myself unsuccessful in my attempt.. this is from what ive read..do correct me if im wrong anytime~~)

ps: coolio, i didnt know u haf ballies!!

ic... just curious only... cuz my office's back alley have unlimited supplies of big juicy rodents like the size of a an adult gozzilla-ed guinea pig. anyway, did you feed your snake with that rat you caught?

anyway, here's a vid i found, feeding a phyton with a sewer rodent:

Actually the back alley rat is not da same sub-species as the captive rat...
you can compare it by their head and mouth area..
which the back alley rat had longer mouth and bigger jaw..

you may feed it to you snake (back alley rat)
but provided that u do some disinfectant and some cleaning by :

keep it for 1 or two week...
give clean food....
( usually it will cause a mess..cause they will never adapt into the cage life)

and you have it freezed before u feed it to your pet snake...
this will kill most of the bacteria in the rat...

that's why buying rat is the wiser choice rather than the back alley rat...

I may be wrong..

cheers
