This looks suspiciously close in fitting to the Sony remote cable mount... have you tried? I remember trying one and it worked. Just not too snug or too snug, I can't remember.

I have thought of that before putting this on sale. 2 modifications needed before it can be used on Alpha:
1. Cut some rubber off the plug as it's bigger
2. Cut the wire off and switch 2 wires because its common wire is positioned different from Alpha remote.
