Great tips all, thanks.

But honestly, there is no easy way in getting popular. IMHO, hard and smart work pays off always.

The number one thing that always works well is content, content and content. Submitting to multiple search engines and directories would not give you the results if you just make one post a week. Crawlers love sites with quality content and regular submissions. An average submission would be a minimum of 3-4 postings a week. But dun la go make silly postings like a lot of peeps I know, just to make content.

Grammar is also very important if you want to rank well overall. I mean if 'Yr bl0g iz 4 msian r3aders' then by all means, go Malaysian all the way la.

You can take a look at my blog as I try to target international readers more. Some people spend 10-20 minutes making a blog posting. In my case, I spend up to 3-4 hours doing it because I try to avoid spelling errors, grammar mistakes and so on. By the way, I only started my blog in June of 09. It is now Dec 09.

Blog Aggregators are a great way of promoting your blogs. Here are some of the known ones in no order;

http://www.bloggerunited.com/
http://www.imcurtain.com/
http://www.malaysian-blog.com/
http://negaraku.net/
http://www.blogged.my/
http://www.petalingstreet.org/

Try joining and submitting your postings there to get more exposure. If you see my postings there, support it smile.gif

I hope this helps boost your blogs a little.

thanks for the links. blogged.my is the best so far coz only need to click ping button for submitting articles. any other suggestions for social bookmarks that auto post up our article whenever we updated our blog? It is too troublesome to submit article by entering url, topic, brief description etc whenever submitting articles. thanks.

I realized something about Google result listing..

Sometimes the web that rank high is just a static web that rarely have new content.

So how they do it?

This is what I think..

1. Frequently Update the same pages
- have you realized, although some of your pages list high in Google, it will not stay there forever. It will be replaced by other fresh story. However that's differ from a pages that constantly updated.

2. Keyword density
- sometimes when a blog just write anything other than its niche, this will make the keyword density for the blog decrease. By limiting pages, keyword density can be assured to be maintain.

That's just my opinion...

might not be able to answer all but i'll try my best:-
1. Wordpress have very nice available themes you can get out there but i don't find it as user friendly as compared to Blogger. Never really get my hands dirty with Wordpress, i believe they used to charge $$ if u want to edit the .css (theme template) of the theme. Somehow with Blogger I can do pretty much alot and there are quite a number of converted Wordpress to Blogger themes too.

2. What do u mean by free hosting? u mean those hosting with 'x' GB HDD space? Do u really need those? Currently Blogger/Wordpress offers free blogging hosting and i kinda like to keep it in the cloud, feels safer....like mine I purchased a domain, e.g. dailyboutique.com and set it to point to Blogger's platform ... so indirectly its still free and running behind Blogger wink.gif

3. Hmmm sorry can't help much since its wordpress...

4. Search Engine Optimization, try googling about it and u'll get alot of info...in a nutshell, its how to optimize ur blog/site for search engine to index it so that it'll appear higher in terms of page rank, better accuracy, etc.

5. Shoutout box? I believe there are few out there, e.g. cbox.ws is one of them...just copy the html code and embed it into ur sidebar...

6. Gotta check with wordpress users...might need to pay additional for changing to other themes or might need to pay to edit the .css

7. Nuffnang is our local ads aggregator, they display localized ads mainly from Malaysia. I believe to quality for Nuffnang, u might need to have at least 10-20 unique visitors per day before they assign ads to ur blog...

8. It's best to always check the HTML code...cuz the HTML code will never lie...at times the editor will convert certain things wrongly for u...for e.g. they might add alot of break spaces...best is to verify the HTML...
