Recently, I face some disconnection issue with my pc running on Vista SP1.

As I was surfing the internet like normal, sometimes my system got disconnected from the internet, but my router still connected. What might be the problem here?

could be problem with the Vista driver for your NIC.

Try download an updated driver for your NIC and see if it works.

I have similar problems too but not sure if it's Vista's problem... could be just bad connection problems??

Try turning off the TCP/IP auto-tuning feature in Vista. Use your favourite search engine to look for the HOWTO.

i faced this b4 but it was just a while as the NIC has to renew the address it assigned. Something like ur driving license every one year, but for IP it only last for 1 days(24 hours).

I use to have this problem...but not anymore...i dunno why. I suspect it's the NIC drivers...or SP1 fix it??

Try update to SP1 and update all the NIC drivers, even if it says Optional update.

Nay.... I blame my internet connection. It does not ever disconnect from 7pm to well, 10am. Then from 10am to around 6pm, sometimes the 'globe' icon in the internet status (on the taskbar) would disappear. I will have to reset my router. Problem solved. Sometimes it just keeps happening.
