I believe the title is rightfully correct.

I'm sure many of you have heard the news about the rising number of Malaysians getting arrested overseas for carrying drugs.
Yes. DRUGS.
And how did the drugs fell into their hands in the first place?

QUOTE
"The company I recently worked in told me to go oversea to meet a client. On the day of the flight, he gave me a present/a business bag/etc.."

"I won a ticket to oversea from that contest. On the day of the flight, the organizer gave me a bonus present.."

"My new boyfriend/girlfriend can't make it for this trip that we had planned because he has another priority, so I had to go alone. On the day of the flight, he gave me a present...."

Etc etc.

Now I'm not the best guy to give advice, basically because of course there are genuine good companies/people out there.

I'm just telling you to be careful, that's all nod.gif

My advice: IF SOMEONE NEW TO YOU, GAVE YOU SOMETHING TO CARRY FOR YOUR FLIGHT, CHECK THE CONTENT BEFORE YOU EVEN GO NEAR THE SCANNING MACHINE.

Notify the authorities or the guards at the airport if you found something that you shouldn't find.

Remember: This does not occur just before your flight from KLIA.
Be reminded, practice this caution even if you are at any airports in other countries.

I do not want another Munirah case.
Stay sharp, fellas.

Good reminder, firedauz.
Here is a popular story about an Australian girl who was accused of smuggling drugs in Indonesia. She is now serving a 20-year sentence in jail.

Damn... 20 years.... o_O
I pity her and her family.

It's the same like the Munirah case here in Tokyo.
I know where's the prison is located.

What if during baggage collecting they get smuggled into the bag? Those locks are easy to be tempered with. It's a small risk, but still possible.

Just be careful everyone smile.gif

One issue that I am most dumb-founded when thinking about it:

Why were the drugs not detected at the scanning machine of KLIA, but they were immediately detected by the scanning machine in foreign countries when the victims arrived there? (like the Malaysian victim's cases in Taiwan and Japan)

KLIA's scanning machine got problem? tongue.gif

Prayers and grief on Mothers Day

user posted image

PASIR PUTIH: Mothers Day for twins Umi Azmira Mohamad and Umi Azuraiha was like any other day.
While other children celebrated by giving their mothers cakes and cards, they could only offer her prayers.

The twins' mother, Umi Slaia Ibrahim, died of throat cancer at Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital in Kota Baru last year, and to make matters worse, their eldest sister, Umi Azlim, 21, is in jail in China for smuggling drugs.

Accompanied by their father, Mohamad Lazim, 53, and their youngest brother, Mohd Azlimuslim, 12, the family travelled 20km from their home in Padang Pak Amat here yesterday to their mother's grave at Kampung Tok Kamis to offer prayers.

"Life has been a struggle for us since our mother died last May. We are too grieved by her death and our sister's detention to celebrate any festive occasion.
"It is good to see families gathered together during celebrations but we do not have a chance to do it. It is fated," said Umi Azmira, who is in Form 6.

She said family members visited the grave every week, besides praying for their sister's sentence to be reduced.

Umi Azlim was sentenced to death after 2kg of heroin was found in her luggage upon arrival in Shantou in 2007. She was believed to have been duped into becoming a drug mule for a syndicate.

She has been sentenced to death but her lawyers are appealing the ruling.

hmm.gif I always wondered why these fraud victims get death sentence. If you killed someone accidentally (not pre-plan) then you get lighter sentence also right? So even though they did carried drugs, but upon investigation they are duped, shouldn't they get lighter sentence and the authorities go after the mastermind(s)? Punishing the victim is not going to reduce drug trafficking anyway as the baddies will just look for new girls to dupe mad.gif

For these "victims," it's always believed but not proven that they are innocent / were duped, so the country will go ahead with the original harsh penalty.

Example is this Umi Azlim girl. Without trying to sound like a heartless *******, how sure are you that she was totally unaware of what she was doing? You believe she is innocent because you want to believe, but the fact is you'll never know for sure.

but the convicted will spend years in jail before being put to death.. good call i say because some of the appeals "work" and the person is acquited

not necessarily. the fact that she possessed the drug is evidence enough to prove her guilty. to overturn this, she need to prove that it was not hers.

dont give us that innocent until proven guilty, you are using it wrongly.

My PERSONAL experience, two years back when I'm at LCCT to take a flight to Macau, a china women who stand infront of me (when Q up to check in) told me that her lugage already exceeded the limit (weight), she demand me to help her to check in one of her beg...

I just ignore her, f**k her, if there is something illegal inside her beg, then I will be icon_question.gif

Drug-packed suitcase abandoned at airport
June 9, 2009 - 12:50PM

Here's a piece of lost luggage whose owner is unlikely to make a claim.

Customs officials in London say someone left a suitcase packed with 20 kilograms of cocaine on a Heathrow Airport carousel.

Investigator Stuart Robinson said on Monday that authorities had yet to identify who the bag belonged to after it arrived on a flight from Mexico on Friday.
