Broadband provider
ISP/package: Streamyx
Location: Cheras, KL
Have you called your ISP's helpline?: Yes. They came, it appeared to work, but not after they left!

Personal equipment
Modem: Aztech ADSL
Router: N/A
Firewall used: N/A

Problem details
First occurence of problem: 3 weeks ago
Problem frequency: Not resolved up until now
Problem description:

Dailup to Streamyx using the network connection setting (used to work until problem occurred) suddenly failed to connect complaining that sever could not be reached. Tested connection using a difference PC, it works. So it should not be modem issue.

Took modem and my PC to a different phone line, but same result.

Reformatted PC and redo the Streamyx connection setting. Preffered/Alternate DNS and all... same thing.
Checked network adapters/hardware/driver etc. All appear to be ok.
I believe that the issue is with the network connection setting, but have no idea what else to try.

Oh, and connecting to a router that connects to a Streamyx ADSL modem works...

Please help!

Reformatted but still cannot work?
It must be some serious problem there.

Are you using normal Windows PPPoE client or using the vendor's PPPoE software?

u using wired to connect right? maybe ur PC lan port defected.

Before you make any connection to Streamyx, did you test the network connection between your PC to the modem first? How is the IP address being assigned to your PC; automatically (dhcp) or you entered a fix IP address? Are you able to get any reply when you 'ping' the modem IP address?
