tumpang thread...

anyone knows what's the different between this 2?
- ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO graphics processor with 256MB of GDDR3 memory
- NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS graphics processor with 512MB of GDDR3 memory

When you need the ATI and when you need the NVDIA?

Thanks in advance.

1st both of them are from different company
2nd both of them are for different usage
3rd both of them have different specification

there is nothing call "when do i need Nvidia, when do i need ATi", which card u select is depending on ur usage, and as well as which specification of the card, and in the end u still need a graphic processor, if not u have nothing to see on ur monitor tongue.gif

HD2600 has lower specification compare to 8800GS in term in its processing power and RAM

if u require higher graphic processing power or heavy usage on graphical thing then go for 8800GS, if u didnt use alot or just normal use and some minor gaming HD2600 will do, i only using the HD2400, can do most of my thing out of it

Thanks Elico.

Is there any difference on the output colour?
I might use for photo editing but not heavy user. As understand from your reply, it seems like the 8800GS giving a faster processing instead of the output colour. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

errr no no... all card shud or will produce the same color depth... or wat u known as 16million colors.... all card nowadays are capable to produce such amount of color

regarding the color output, this question is more toward the monitor rather than the graphic processing unit, different monitor have different color feel, especially LCD, some say LG looks nicer, some say Samsung, some say Sony... its subjective to the person

the processing power i refer to was the computational power of the graphic card processor... as u know more computational power mean u can compute more thing in a time, mean faster.... Example: let say i doing Photoshop on a very very large photo, to show out the result of the changes i apply in Photoshop if i do it on HD2600 it maybe need 2 second, but at 8800GS maybe it only need 1 second

processing power will affect the looks of the graphic rather than the color
