If I send my xbox there, can I witness the reballing process and I want to see the BGA template that you use to reball. This is to make sure you dont just use a reflow machine with certain heat profiling and charge me rm500.

Also, why the hell are you using a non-leaded solder balls? Leaded solder balls better when it comes robustness. Source for a leaded balls laa... better mahh..from 3 months warranty you can change to 1 year. Also, leaded balls are easier to remove using that vacuum BGA reflowing machine. Lead free harder and have to use different heat profile with higher settings and there a chance to damage the pads. Just a suggestion , if you can source for leaded balls then go for it!!!

actually reballing a bga chip is not a trade secret kindaa thing, I've seen ppl reball various bga chips.
The things that you need are the bga reflow station, proper size solder balls , bga template and a skillful tech.

It's like a mechanic telling you that you need to change your front axle/cv joints. Almost everyone knows the process, its not a trade secret.
Same goes for a BGA reballing service.

Any hardcore HP repair outfit or any other electronic specialize repair shop should be familir with the process.
All I want to make sure that he does a reballing and not a reflow. If it is a reflow , than I can easily do it at the office.

Reballing without proper template is suicide.

Strongly agreed with hassanj. Becos like he said, if u use the wrong method, then not much difference and 3rod will come back anytime.

tech2, so okay reballing bga chips is your trade secret and I cannot witness you do it. Can you at least prove that you do reball and not reflow. ALso, do you return the old GPU chip after replacing it with new one ? Can you also prove to me the job that you are doing is reballing and not reflowing, the later of which price tag is not any where near the quoted rm500.

About the 1 year warranty, so okay I went overboard. But do you get my drift as to why I suggested to you to use leaded balls? it's waayy better than the newer ROHs compliant lead free solder balls when it comes to operating robustness. Even if you still provide 3 months warranty, IMO you'll see lesser console return.
