QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Dec 1 2008, 12:58 PM) I've read the wikis but I don't quite understand it, what does TCP vegas do. Delaying TCP packets? Means better QoS? i have no idea on this TCP vegas too. i read some feedback from linksysinfo, some forumer said disable QoS when enable TCP vegas will give u high speed on ul & dl; some said enabling this 2 will do just fine while some said will drop down the sped of dl & ul.... |

if my memory serve me right, for TCP vegas mod.
reason u get lower UL&DL speed, it to maintain the consistent latency TCP vegas is not for everyone, it really depend user & internet application. even QoS is not bullet proof. i still stick with my trial & error. sadly i'm lack of time testing out TCP vegas. |

K , yes, you're right, TCP_Vegas is a waste of resources for wireless connections and the TCP_Weestwood is recommended. You have many options now in Tomato 1,22 since you can enable/disable the TCP packet optimization, as you know TCP_Vegas enlarges the packet window to provide better efficiency but unfortunately it creates problems in wireless connection where the small packet is recommended.
Cheers! |

i noticed that the latest 1.22.8010 is well responded to any browser compare to previous 1.20.8002 & the memory usage is lower than b4 thanks Victek! |

Tomato 1.23 is out!
Changelog: * Fixed remote logging didn't work if 'log internally' was disabled. * Updated - Dnsmasq 2.46, Dropbear 0.52 & Busybox 1.12.3. * DDNS now works even if WAN is disabled as long as DDNS uses an external checker or a pre-defined IP (Basic:DDNS:IP Address). * TCP Vegas (TCP congestion control) added (enable in QOS:Settings), thanks to Rodney H. * SYN cookies setting in Advanced:Firewall. * Status:Device List now shows OUI, Static IP, Add Wireless Filter links in a separate line. * Removed ebtables patch which appears to have caused various problems. * Create Backup setting & Backup Link URL in Admin:Bandwidth. |
