baronic,

is it ok to get the touch pro now or should i go for touch pro 2 instead........?
*

that would depend on your budget and requirements. specs as in internally not much difference. its the screen and the keyboard layout that's changed.

@Magnakai, as i've advised before be wary of HP's infamous bad customer support when u damage your device lol. but then again anything u buy at that budget will be not top of the line so spare parts will be hard. i dun like the samsung screen size. i suggest going for second hand Touch Cruises if u can find any, or even a Touch Diamond. No keyboard tho, and i dun think being a beginner means u need one.

@JRnMel, heavy gaming with qwerty? either Touch Pro 2 (even second hard will be a hard find for your budget) or Touch Pro (which will be no problem second hand for your budget)

@hrmn, no la stylus is not dead and u can still do that. Try looking extremely hard for a second hand Touch HD. will meet your needs quite nicely

office all wm also got. Cruise 09 is a decent choice for your budget, as for your rom worries, u can hard-spl and go to XDA forums and flash a rom.

since u want QWERTY, if you are willing to take the RISK u can go for HTC Touch Pro 2 ap set. or a brand new Touch Pro ori can also fit your budget

it should be done when u buy, or u can look up XDA dev forum for unlocks. but i wouldnt really recommend buying from the US. for one thing, no warranty support. especially if branded, no warranty support from SIS, pay also they wont help.

also keep in mind some devices that are branded are actually DIFFERENT. front camera dun have for some, diff bandwidth support etc.

if u are gonna get a device without warranty, go for Acer F1. or the TG01. Both not available in Malaysia, and both worth while, with the new SNAPDRAGON processor. but again, no warranty. and no front cam, which doesnt matter to u

Baronic, I'm deciding between two PDA.
I'm not sure which one to pick.

I'm looking at HTC TyTN II & HP iPAQ 612C.
My budget only fits these two. [2nd hand offcourse] blush.gif

I'm not sure what I want in a PDA, maybe you can just give a simple conclusion in which one has the biggest positive points.

PS: Do any of these 2 PDA has the capability of changing [by seem editing] the LCD resolution from 320x240 to 640x480? Would there be huge lag?

@kakumei. htc touch hd would be a winner with its large screen. but u'll have to get second hand. nothing good to recommend otherwise with that budget. maybe x peria or touch pro

@kayve, u dun need a high spec phone for your requirements. but for value for money, i say go for touch hd.

btw u guys shud wait for next year's line up. new processors coming along
*

Hi Baronic, should we really wait for the new proc?
will you foresee the price difference and also the performance?

I 'm looking for a HTC Touch 2. Do you have any opinion on this phone?
will there be any competitors which are better in this price range?

Thank you thank you. notworthy.gif

@chiohbu, not sure, i know HTC no worldwide support. not sure of others. doubt it.

@narako, see the specs and see what you want la

@danny, NO windows mobile can watch RMVB, and HD movies sure lag. for me i'd convert a full length movie to around 300mb max for watching. for touch 2, maybe a lil smaller. wat matters is the RESOLUTION of the movie. Touch 2 is QVGA so u wanna convert it to around that size, and use Coreplayer for best playback. will there be much improvement regarding new processor? well, for multimedia probably. For myself i'm reserving judgement until i can do some extensive testing on it. for me i wun buy a device till next year around July August, let things simmer down and any kinks worked out. PS: scew touch 2 go for second hand Touch HD

@louyit, HTC Touch Pro second hand is best value for money for what u need, also consider Xperia

@beebee, brand new not much choices, but for value for money i'd recommend Touch HD second hand. brand new, maybe touch cruise the new version, or Touch 2. but i'd recommend second hand HD over those two models.
