Futurama Going Blu-ray
20th Century Fox At the recently concluded Comic Con in San Diego, Fox Home Entertainment revealed that they will bring the Futurama direct-to-video movie 'Bender's Game' to Blu-ray on November 4th, day-and-date with the DVD release. No supplemental features or technical specs were announced at this time. source : blu-ray.com Format War Redux: China Blu-ray Disc Shanghai United Optical Disc has announced that they have completed assembly of the first production line for CBHD (until recently known as CH-DVD or the Chinese version of HD DVD). They expect to start volume production of films this winter, though they may be too late with Blu-ray already making its move in China. Not surprising, the backers of CBHD are claiming lower production costs and licensing fees as the main strengths of the format instead of any benefit to the consumer. Where have I heard that before? The Blu-ray Disc Association held a large Blu-ray event in China a few weeks ago, followed by SinoCES which featured a ton of Chinese manufacturers who are making players for the chosen high definition format. Combine that with the fact that no Hollywood studio has pledged support to the format, CBHD is not expected to receive much attention in China. source : blu-ray.com Sony Brings The 7th Voyage of Sinbad to Blu-ray Sony Pictures Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the 1958 film 'The 7th Voyage of Sinbad' to Blu-ray on October 7th, day-and-date with the DVD re-release. Video will be presented in 1.66:1 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. Some time China really good of replica. taking other technology and make it China made. China X5, China Merc, China 747 aircraft, China handphone and now, China blue ray Geng  Need to check the player price if thay really make it in to sale. |

Another format war that will only leads to grave next to HD-DVD. You need major studios to back it up in order to win the war. In this case, CH-DVD is very limited.
