What's the point in putting a 8600GT in there and then add a ULV C2D, that's stupid right? I mean, it would certainly botteneck the GPU.

QUOTE Recommended Retail Price: RM 5,999 With this price tag, XPS M1330 is still a good package considering the price. However, it is nice to see BenQ fitting in the 8600M GT in a small laptop. |

My bad, well, LV, okay, is it the same proc as the one you would find in the MacBook Air, albeit at a larger packaging for the proc I suppose. Anyways, as it is a LV part, wouldn't it still bottleneck the GPU?

yes, definately it will limit the maximum potential of the graphic performance.
i think it was design mainly for the mobility professional and not gamers. but it is a bit naive for them because this kinda machine will ended up stuck in the middle of enhanced mobility and grphic performance...in the end , it'll nvr be able to meet both groups' requirement. if there were going after for professional mobility group, it would be wise to use nvidia quadro rather than normal consumer GC... @ rM5999, you can get a decent Lenovo notebook which is quality built, good processor and quadro graphic card. if they were going after the mobiity group, they should have use a build in graphic, and a better battery (at least 8 cells) to attract the mobility professionals. not a very impressing products... |

Actually it rather appeals to me because I find it's a good trade off between mobility and gaming performance. Macbook Air, X300 all don't close in graphic performance and most laptops with a 8600GT are too big and heavy (XPS1530, etc) I travel extensively so a light laptop is important (a 7kg check-in limit really sucks but my policy is to check in any luggage if I can because I spend too much waiting for it to come out). On the other hand, I love my games so the integrated graphics card just don't cut it. I concede may be in the minority but hey I doubt the X31 is made for the mass market. Most games today are heavier on graphic card specifications than CPU requirements. Really I was almost ready to lay down the RM6K to buy it the moment I saw it. The only thing that has stopped me because I am waiting to see how Centrino 2 and AMD's external graphic card solution will turn out. This post has been edited by LordGrimm: Jun 12 2008, 10:28 PM |

Look at the thinness of that. And they squeezed in a what, a scorching hot 8600M GT? Good luck with that!
Don't even think about getting this without a 3 year warranty. |

Please, help me with my choice. I am mobile user and I looking for light (1,5 kg), premium (excellent materials and built quality) laptop with perfect display (LED backlight, black color without lighting) and, also I want to play some strategy games like "Company of Heroes" or "C&C3".
What is better (no matter the cost): Benq X31, LG P300, or Sony Z? Sorry for My english, if it's bad... This post has been edited by Mr. Future: Jul 19 2008, 03:30 AM |
