Black for me but white is also very attractive. The only fear is the white turns yellow(hopefully not or will it??).

I think aluminum look more professional cause suit with Macbook Pro or iMac aluminum.

if you got Macbook White Colour then go for iPhone 3G White,
and if you got Macbook Black then iPhone 3G Black will be suit for it..

for my personal view, i still prefer 1st Gen iPhone.. look nice in alu & black..

The white wont turn yellow, because the material is not like the one used for Macbook. If anyone wants to see, I can show it for you. The gloss coating on the outside will prevent any white iPhones turning to yellow. Get a nice chamois/shammy cloth and buff that thing to a shine.

black is so attractive.... white is so PURE.... Yet i will choose WHITE as many 1st Gen iPhone is in black colour...

If I absolutely HAD to choose, it'd be black even though smudges are more visible on the backing. Why? I find holding a black phone to my ear during calls in public areas a lot less "attention-drawing" compared to a completely glossy white phone. Think in the shoes of snatch thieves and pickpockets, and you'll get my point

However though, me ol' aluminium backing still FTW in terms of its sturdy feel and being less prone to fingerprint smudges and scratches. Sour grapes, perhaps?

I love white...but a little concern about the recent crack problem...white will be quite obvious compared to black.

It isn't a worldwide issue yet, so I wouldn't jump to conclusions claiming it to be manufacturing defects. Perhaps it is indeed merely user mishandling and abuse, and the user's 'way' of releasing his/her anger and place all the blame on Apple? Of course, Apple products are indeed known to have certain manufacturing issues like the MBP's exploding AC adapters etc, but hey, at least those problems were recognized. So until these cracks are verified as REAL defects, as long s you take good care of your phone, there's no reason for it to get cracks like that.

For me, if I'm getting 8GB then I'll go for black and if I'm getting 16GB then I'll go for white. Black looks better imo. Although the current silver phone is drawing attentions quite well though while talking on the phone.

There are certain companies around the world which would allow you do have your phone painted, you know? And now that it's plastic and no longer brushed aluminium, the costs involved are far lower. It'd be a new hype called "Pimp My iPhone!"
